Just a quick question, I'm level 88 - and am about to hit 89 soon.
I don't have any points into any summons besides Oak sage/Carrion vine.
I was thinking about putting that 1 skill point (when I lvl) into Ravens for the blinding attack. I can see it being useful / pretty cool.
Example : Blind a group of archers with ravens, tele into the middle of them and kill em.
BUT.. my question is.. I was messing around with the Raven charges on my Hoto, and they would POOF as soon as I casted them, what's up with this?
How long are they supposed to last? Would it be worth it?
Also.. I didn't invest into a Grizzly because I never needed too, my merc is a beast and he rarely dies.. I never die either with lots and lots of life and cyclone armor.. but would it be cool to put that 1 skill point when I hit 90 into Spirit wolves? Would they be viable in hell? My + skills would bring it to level 18 or some**** like that... I was thinking they can serve as a cool distraction casting them into distant mobs - but would they die INSTANTLY? Wasted skill point?
I'm guessing the Ravens poof when you swap weapons back?
Since you are given the skill by the weapon, if you unequip it, they will poof.
Ravens are the orst possible distraction summons in the whole game, since they can't be attacked. They poof after attacking a specific number of times. the number of times is shown on the skill.
Although if you mean they distract enemies by blinding them, they're good
I'd recommend getting grizzly too, for tanking, and snatcing ravens on the way
I'll partially agree with Lumpor. Ravens won't distract an entire mob of monsters. They're more used to snipe the revivers in the back or warn you of ambushes off screen. Wolves/Bear are better for mob stalling.
And if you are given a skill by an item, then switch that item off, the summon will vanish unless you have at least one hard point into the skill. If you do, then you will lose summons until you reach the maximum number your current skill level can handle (i.e. if you have lvl 3 Ravens and hit a Skill Shrine. You can summon up to five Ravens, however, when the wears off, you'll have Ravens vanish until you hit three of them, the maximum you're allowed based on your skil points).
Thanks for the input guys.
I bit the bullet, and put 1 point into Ravens at lvl 89.
With my + Skills, it brought them to lvl. 20.
I kind of like them - they do 30 hits each? From what I remember..
but the chance to blind is 100%. I cast them over distant mobs / archers / Temptress's and they are quite effective.
Next point will be into Wolves at 90. I'm not taking the Dru past 90, just wayyy too much time and effort needed.
I figured Having wolves and ravens was worth it instead of putting those 2 points into Oak. He honestly never dies, and it's just another 10% - I think I literally have 500 points into vit w/ gear and charms.
Spirit wolves at lvl 20 - die constantly in hell?
Well, yes kind of. Never used them in hell at such levels, but I've never heard anything good about'em
Bah, seemed kind of exciting.. the idea of having 5 wolves tele **** far away.
If you have a point into wolves already, would you be able to test for me? Like go to Frigid Highlands in a5 hell and let me know if they die right away? Really don't want to waste the point.. <33333 please![]()
I don't even have a druid on this ladder :(
If you've got +19 skills, spend a few points and get grizzly, he'll be a much better distraction.
I understand and I appreciate the input.
However.. I only have 1 point into raven, and I will only have 1 extra point once I hit 90(I am 89) right now.. I don't intend on taking him any longer..
so I really have no choice. It's either between no spirit wolves, and a level 19 spirit wolf. I was just asking if it's even worth it or should I just toss that last point into Oak :0)
