Aye - the forum-traders are somewhat nicer people than ingame b.net traders. B.net traders keep insisting on seriously way WAY too high prices for pretty common items - does anyone ever bite, I wonder.

I'd much rather sell an Occy here for 10 PGs than sit in a trade-game for several hours waiting to rip-off a needing sorc of her only HF Ist.

How does the "dupe economy" affect hardcore? I assume there must be some level of duping going on (since if people CAN do something they often WILL do it) but since the HC community is much smaller, how prevalent is the duping? Do we still assume 99% of all HRs are dupes? I'm wondering because recently I came across a few items that might be worth a decent rune or 2 if they were on softcore ladder but I have no idea if they'd be worth even half as much on hardcore. EG: 175 poison damage/5%FHR small charm.

99% of hr's are dupes. You can know this because these are the rarest items in the game. For everyone and their brother to have an enigma, you can rest assured that they're almost all duped.

That sounds like a duelers charm. IMO it might be hard to find a home for in HC.

Just to put it in perspective the Hell Hellforge is the most lucrative way to find runes, hands down. But it would take something like 900+ hellforge runs(IIRC) to cube an enigma worth of runes. (I think there's a 10 rune range, 1/10 chance to get a Gul rune, cubing from only gul it will take 96 gul's to make both Jah and Ber, but I knocked some off supposing that you could cube up to guls from other runes.)

one of the things I like about hardcore is that items commonly disappear due to death (at least this applies to most hardcord players), unlike softcore where they persist forever, just makes trading a lot more boring in softcore

Yeah, I agree. The economy is so much more robust in HC as there is an item sink. Too bad it's almost completely 'runed'

I personally hate how you can already be "rich" at the start of the reset. Whats the point of you just buy all you gear from people, high priced or not, on the first day of Ladder.

It to me effectively ruined the Ladder more then I think people realized.

Anyways, I don't think I could be much help, hell I sooner sell alot of stuff to Charsi then try and bother pricing it to trade, but either way, good luck.

Well i took a trip through "The site that shall not be named" , i have to say, reading those post ... if you can call them that, in the trade section gave me a headache.

The most coherent post was the first one I checked in the trade section, classic:

"IF U BRING ME HIS EAR ILL GIVE U MY 75 <Censored>.

There were no big dupe waves this ladder yet. However if i were you i'd assume that there is a high chance of HR being duped... if i buy rune, it's for immediate use and not for safekeeping. HR prices on Europe dropped down 35% during last 3 days, but still Jah worth about 6 Ists right now.

Stormshield or Shako worth less then Ist already.
