just thought i'd point out that there are some very decent cheap runewords to help you out in the beginning (im not 100% on the rune orders so check before you make):

insight merc polearm (ral tir tal sol) - sweet mana regen aura
leaf staff (tir el) - ridiculously cheap +fire staff, can be made in a +fireball staff
rhyme shield (shael eth) - mf, res, block etc
spirit shield (tal thul ort amn) - +2 skills, fcr, res
lore helm (ort sol) - +1 skills, light res
stealth armor (tal eth) - fcr, fhr, frw, mana regen
ancients shield (ral ort tal) - everyones favourite res shield

Thanks for this list! I'd left the game about 4 years ago, and recently picked it back up. I thought a MF sorc would be best to start, but am struggling to get her off the ground. I'd forgotten all about the Leaf (FYI, most sites list it as Tir + Ral) word, which should help a ton with her mana regen.

Btw, I'm currently planning to do a Meteorb build. Do you think that's overreaching for a 'naked sorc' (I'll only have what she picks up along the way).

Hello all:

After playing wow for about 3 years, I chose to quit it and pick up D2 again,
so here I am, starting on US east ladder, currently first toon a meterorb sorc,

I don't know how effective this thread is but I'll take a shot at it. I recently started playing again and decided to start out with my favourite character: meteorb sorc. But struggling with white and blue items is quite tedious and boring at times... so if you got any spare items I'lll take whatever you got =P

I just started this game, when I was able to find a crack for it from BitTorrent. First time playing D2, very excited and very enjoyable. I have a MeteOrb Sorc, but really really crappy gear, makes her keep dying in hell.
