What type of item for Runeword?

I'm just wondering what type of pally shield I should be on the lookout for to make a Sanctuary in. I was told it should be 35+ res but that's about it. Any ideas of what kind of shield and what other stats it should have? (Ex. Enhanced Defense). I'm a smiter pally if that helps.

Also wondering what type of armour I should get for a fortitude for myself NOT my merc. I'm currently sitting at 156 strength and probably will be around 160-190 by the time I actually make the fortitude.

pretty much any elite paladin shield with high resists is good for sanctuary.

i found a 44all res 3OS kurast shield a while ago, and i got like, pul + lem for it on the east trade forum here. the guy that bought it said it performed fantastically.

no idea on the fortitude.

The smite dmg varies on each of the elite shields though doesn't it? So there must be one that is slightly better for a smiter than the rest of the shields.

P.S. I can't believe you sold that for a pul lem. Last ladder season I sold a 3os ST 43 res for an ohm.

What can I say? It was the highest offer received, so its the best I could get.

And the average smite damage is the same on all of them.

For Fortitude, your best bet is either a Archon Plate or a Dusk Shroud. They have the highest resell value in case you want to sell them, or low str req's if you even decide to move to a character who doesn't have 156+ str (Which seems like to much tbh unless you are going for a non -req CoA).

For Sanctuary, its the same as Spirit, a Sacred Targe is the best. Last season I was lucky enough to find a 3 soc, 45 res, 15/12ish ST to roll a Sanctuary in. Odd enough, it rolled a even 100 res. I loved it.

Thanks Agent. I knew an AP and DS would be the best resell value but since I had more strength than I need I figured maybe I could use a higher defense armour to make it in even if it would hard to re sell.

Thanks for the clarification on the shield though. Any ideas where I should be mfing to try and find a 3os one?
