We can't accept new players in the channel, because we have to sort things out and get a common position on which new members to accept. Till now, new members were accepted quite formlessly, but with that incident, we have to reevaluate.

As far as invites go...it's up to channel creator Dyolf. Personally i hope he sorts things as quick as possible and proper invitation of new members continue. However, it's his house and his rules

I 2nd that. I have had some bad experiences in the channel, which is why I don't use it anymore (nothing even remotely like what happened to Koyen though, and nothing worth banning for either). I wish there was some easy way to determine, if players are trustworthy or not. As a start though, I don't think allowing players with a postcount of 1 and a membership of these fora dating back a single day, is a good idea. Of course an empty channel isn't desireable either - for whatever reason.

And I think it's a pity that all of Floyd's hard work and dedication and Koyen's generousity has been exploited in this way.

That was my $0.02 (though you should take it with a grain of salt, since I don't use the channel anymore).

Too bad you did'nt tell me you had a bad experience, so i could do nothing about it.

re: Registering through forum. Of the 4 exiled members (out of several hundred now), we never had a single problem with people that applied in this forum, the few foul eggs all got added directly by recommendation of channel members. That is why we are changing the rules, people will only get added if they post a decent paragraph, here.

And believe me, that is quite efficient in keeping out idiots, because you have to register at the forum and write a informative post in standard english. That is easy for you and me, but not for the "lol omgz lez pwn s0m n00bz" type of kid.

just read the post, i think he got a bit worried by the agitation he caused. i don't think he realized he was not in an open game, but in a channel where such things cannot stand. I would be so relieved if this came to a good end.
