First off, thanks to the mods and members that make these forums a great resource for Diablo info.
I played D2 and D2x casually with friends soon after they were released. I stopped in 2002-2003 I think. I also played a lot of WC, WC2, and SC back in the day too (my comp can't handle SC2 and I'm going to have to get a new one for D3).
In Spring 2010 I saw an ad for the Diablo battle chest for $20, and was compelled to buy it due to fond memories. That was the beginning of the end...
I've been playing single player D2X since then, and have been getting lots of good tips while lurking in the SP forums. I've learned a lot about strategy that I had no concept of when I played years ago. I've also been compulsively checking the updates on D3 for about a year now.
With the buzz building about beta, I decided it was time to step out from the shadows and join the community.
Hi. I've been following the forum for some time now (since D3 was announced to be exact...) , but for some reason never had the urge to join, until today.
I've been playing Diablo since the first one came out. I started in gaming cafes in Poland, then got vanilla D2 on my pc, then the expansion, then after moving to the US a few years ago, I started "overplaying" the game (if that's even possible with D2 ^^').
I'm also an avid fan of StarCraft (not as much S2 though...), WarCraft (no to WoW and definitely yes fan made maps and mods for W3), Dark Messiah of Might and Magic and Heroes of Newerth (and anything else Aeon of Strife-like).

I'm another one of the eight million people that are "stepping out of the shadows" on this forum as the beta nears. I'm not the biggest gamer ever, I basically just play Diablo 2x and Magic, but those two games I love as though they were my slightly untalkative children.
I played Diablo 1 and 2 back when they came out. It was all cookie cutters for me back then - a WW barb and Meteorb Sorc were my highest chars. But rest assured, this time around I'm gunning for melee Demon Hunters and enchantress wizards from the start. Not that I think cookie cutter chars will even be a thing with runestones...
I currently do some content for another Diablo news/fan site (not sure if I'm allowed to link externally?) and I'm excited to maybe get some into the coverage aspect of Diablo 3.
But most importantly, I really really really just want to kill some zombies. As soon as humanly possible.
Greetings All! Not really new, been lurking around, and follow Flux's ramblings on D.net and listen to the pod cast.
Generally new to the Diablo games having bought the Battle Chest a bit ago. I did attend Blizzcon year before last and played really enjoyed playing the D3 demo.
I'm 31. I've lurked on this site since...2001 or so.
I typically played Single Player D1 and D2 and have summarily missed out on a lot of comraderie, good item drops, player kills and skullduggery in general.
Needless to say I do not plan to repeat as such with Diablo 3. Inquiring the interests of people I know already about Diablo 3 has proven to be a less than fruitful venture. So, becoming a member here, where I have perused countless tomes of valuable information, seems to be the best possible (and most obvious) course of action.
I honestly would like to engage in discussion and future multiplayer with those of higher than average caliber (non-douches to be precise), and while I obviously have to first contribute to the community properly in order to enjoy such a priveledge, I look forward to conversing with you all regarding all things Diablo .
Shame on me for not posting here before bloviating all over the general forum!
I joined the original dii.net site back in 2002, and the single player forum became my home away from home. I played almost exclusively single player until 2006, when after buying a new PC, I tried WoW, and got hooked into that. I kept close tabs on the progress of D3, as much as there was, but a new job recently killed my effective raiding time, so it allowed me to move up my timetable of quitting WoW for D3.
I am 42, live in Las Vegas, NV, USA, and although I will probably lean towards SP in D3, my WoW guildies that will play D3 will certainly join me for some good old fashioned demon slaying. As well as my son, my best friend, my brother-in-law...
I started on diablo 1 back in the good ol' days. shortly before hellfire was released. I liked the game alot. the atmosphere etc. that got me hooked
Then i switched over to counter-strike and played that untill diablo 2 was released. Then i played diablo 2 basically untill warcraft 3 was released. Then i played both, till WoW.
Currently just playing League of legends and starcraft 2.. . waiting for diablo 3 !
i had a quick refreshing period a couple of months ago where i played some diablo 2 with a friend. (i never played 1.10 before) it was awesome! But i couldnt dedicate myself knowing diablo 3 was around the corner
