    D3 - M rated?

When trying to watch videos at official site I was asked to input my date of birth. First impression is that the game is gonna be very dark, the atmophere is creepy, the music is ****ing awesome. <3

Very dark? The first thing I noticed were the WoW-style huge burning glowing lightning bolt shooting axes the barb was wielding. Exactly the kind of thing I was hoping they would be able to avoid in the Diablo series. It looks more like Dota to me really. Fun for sure, but the dark, hopeless Diablo feeling seems to have faded. All this is of course based on that one video.

Yes, I agree. The sense of pure evil and darkness is lost in a 3d-engine such as this. But we lost some of that going from Diablo to Diablo 2 as well.

Just for a second there, when the splash screen changed, I felt some of that old Blizzard magic at work, "and the heavens shall tremble".

This wonŽt be a bad game, IŽll guarante you it wont, BUT, its gonna be more like a blend of D2 and some of the recent hack n slash games.

    and, no potions???
I dunno about that... I can see why they opted to change that,
but Im not shure its for the better.

Guess, weŽll see in a couple of years.

Mmm.. the creature bits a that guy's head of in the trailer. Look at the undead page in the official page, all splashed with blood and looking very creepy. I really think that's the way they're heading, since the pages are close to final and the game pre-alpha. So it's not polished, but definetely going that way.

I agree, some of the screenshots are looking lame, but others plain good, just like I'd imagined D3 looking like!! There's the isometric view, ARPG instead of MMO (THANK GOD!!), small party size insane action, the intensity and skill systems, basically everything critical. And then there's the attempt to make it dark and gothic (which it says D3 is on the page) which is just under construction, apparently.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I just watched the trailer and it looked WAY too easy. Unless the guys at Blizzard used hyped up characters for the trailer? Hope I'm right because if it's this easy it'll be a bit of a disappointment

    more blood the better

instead of hellgate where they marketed it as "survival horror" and all we got in return was a lame shoot-em-up

They perked up the characters so they could demonstrate more aspects of the game. There is also a lot of balancing that will go on during development. It will be almost guaranteed harder than what they showed thought their end battle will likely be close to what the gameplay will be like as of now. Also, one guy had quite a gruesome ending so it wasn't a complete cakewalk at the end.

    DI- M for Mature
    DII - M for Mature
DIII - Is this really a question? I mean you got dismemberment and scantily-clad demonic females...

This was already gone in Diablo II...
