Re: Beginner's Guide to Build Selection

Really the best compendium for newbies I've yet found. After years without playing D2 I've found in these guides a nice comeback.

Re: Beginner's Guide to Build Selection

A very nice guide overall, but I´d like to know why the two Martial Arts Assassin builds are mentioned as 'fairly item dependant'? IMO (and experience), they are not.

Yes, they are fairly involved and require more skill switching than most other builds mentioned here, but I wouldn´t call them item dependant. A TS/Dtail kicker just needs some Elite boots and a Phoenix Striker just needs a one-handed weapon that is 1.) reasonably fast and 2.) has a range of more than 1.

The rest of their gear doesn´t need to be anything special, just reasonably decent items that is simple to get through questing/shopping/crafing/gambling.

I noticed those links to the meteorb, blizzballer were written in 2004. Are they still considered the standard PvE sorc today?

Great guide! Thanks for putting this together. Long time D2 fan, first time to a forum/community for it. Getting my first Fishymancer together as of last night Already made it to Andy this morning

Looking forward to a sorc build too, lots of differing ideas and builds, so it should be fun

I've updated the links up to Frost Zealot. I'll work on the rest over the weekend.
