Heya all,
Just started up a Fire Hunter, and have a couple of quick questions about it:
1. Is FCR gear needed/helpful at all? I.e., when I cast Fissure, can I restart shooting with the bow faster if I have higher FCR, or does that not matter at all?
2. In Ed from Russia's guide, he seems strongly against HoW for some reason. I would like to have stronger summons (and bow), and the fire skills as a backup and "AOE support" instead of being the focus of the build. Does this skill layout look ok (listed in approximate order taken)?
20 Fissure
20 Dire Wolves
20 HoW
20 Volcano
rest in Grizzly
(1 in all prereqs, and no Vine points at all)
Thanks!
FCR isn't needed at all.
It depends. I'm using HoW since I'm not allowed to put points into vitality. However, I like the idea of hitting things so I'd use HoW if life wasn't such a worry.
Here's what I doing/did for skill layout
Fissure/Wolf (Alternate. Good Fissure damage won't do anything if your summons die in two seconds)
Volcano/Spirit (Again, Alternate)
Grizz (1 point at lvl 30 though, of course)
It took longer to kill things. However, the support offered by fire skills makes the weakness of summon damage easier to take.
This is all IMO of course.
I advocated Oak Sage because I prefer to focus on Fire Skills for damage and Summons for tanking and backup. HoW doesn't increase your fire damage. However, if your intention is to make your bow and summons do most damage, you're fine with HoW as well.
Your skill setup is fine but a point in Carrion Vine is a nice investment IMO.
Er, just read my post >.>. I'm currently using Oak Sage, not HoW. Sorry for the confusion.
I put a point into Solar Creeper. It's much more consistent corpse disposal than Carrion since you're always casting Fire Spells.
