Usually i make a pure LF zon and a pure strafer, however i think I'm going to try and make a gunslinger with the spare items i have left around.
I have to say this is one of the nicest / best setup guides I've read on these forums, very easy on the eye .
Glad you both like it, indeed it was some work to make. I wasn't personally satisfied with my windtitan guide so had to make something better to redeem myself.
Maybe I should consider updating it soon ... with fixes, 1.13 notes, and more about the tele setup I've used ... that javelin ascii art needs to be made too ...
Nothings really changed for a Gunslinger in 1.13 though, has it?
Except that its a much more useful build, now that rune drop rates have gone up enough to make it worthwhile to have a dedicated Cowhunter/area clearer
The only real change is that I no longer have to mention iron maiden as an obstacle for using a melee merc, and maybe some notes on restating. There's of course always some grammatical errors and misspellings to fix too.
Loving this guide! Found it earlier this week and now have my gunslinger running in later nm. I've decided to take the crossbow route, just always wanted to use a crossbow, but it never made any real sense. Still actually doesn't, but I just had to do it I can't stand faith merc, so I will have to do without the fana-aura. But at least I get a tank, act 2 merc.
Is the CS really needed and effective? I can't figure out how to use it and when. As my ama is kind of low-res glasscanon, I don't dare to walk up to diablo and start poking him with a stick. Can I just pump GA and use it as a boss killer, or is it too slow? Can't remember how effective GA was (been over a year since my last bowa)
GA is really inferior to CS for killing bosses, and that should be your main use it after all. CS also helps against the big high life monsters such as venom lords.
As I play mine I'd highly recommended to get enough life/res to safely stand close to such targets to CS when preferable, even if you have to sacrifice some bow damage to do it. However, if you prefer the ranged style you can of course stay away and use GA, you'll just be *a lot* slower against bosses.
actually for Diablo you WANT to stand in melee range, as it makes you immune to his dreaded lightning hose...turns it from "kills you if you dont chug a purple in time" to "3 seconds of free hits".
If you dont know how to use CS to its full potential, then you dont know how to play a hybrid zon right, its really half the point of the build
I'm learning I dumped my skill points into CS, and it works, just like you promised. Really speeds up the process. No idea why LF and CS actually work, as the dmg isn't all that high. But I'm not going to worry my head with that, just keep throwing/poking that lightning (and ofc gunning down monsters with my buriza )
