    Guardian Naz Ghoul - The trang Ouls Poison/Summon/Fire Necromancer

    Hello friends

    not long time ago i've finished my second Guardian based on class specific sets, my Mav's magezon Gabrielle and if somebody remembers (which i really doubt it :-), i promised that next character will be Poison/Summon/Fire Trang necro...

    Before few days i finished him and i'm proud to introduce him as my third Guardian for this sept...Overall its my seventh , but first two were finished with using escape button (so personally i'm not considering them as a real Guardians), therefore Naz Ghoul is my fifth REAL Guardian and first necro...

    Btw., i have in progress two HC septs, one untwincked and this set based, still far away from Nightfishes mad Quest...

    Anyway here he is....please applause...Thank You :-)

    Guardian Naz Ghoul, lvl 85:

    Lets start with pictures:

    LCS Poison and Bone tree

    Skill distribution is obvious for the Poisonmancer, rest of the points are one point wonders, prerequisities, but there two exceptions...


    20 Poison Nova (main killer, used 85% of time)
    20 Poison expotion (very nice skill, if You need to destroy corpses, otherwise dmg is nearly as good as with Poison nova
    20 Poison dagger (this time just a synergy, helped me a lot on the beginning)
    10 Lower resist
    9 Skeleton Mastery


    Now, why i spent rest points that way...

    Explanation:

    1)Lower resist - just because only hard points invested in this skill are calculated, while speaking about breaking enemy Poison immunity, i needed maximum available ponts for this skill...Keep in mind, that when immunity is broken, things like -% enemy resist to poison ARE working...
    From my experince, not many Poison immune monsters remained after using this skill, so it allowes me to effectivelly use my strongest spell agains them (Nova)

    2)Skeleton mastery - i've been really dissapointed by skellies survibillity in Hell, when i played my untwincked Summonmancer, so Revives are much better option from my point of view...And only synergy for them is this skill...

    This merc was strong enough to kill any unbreakable PI monsters in the game, thats why i used mighty one



    Gameplay events, finds, thoughts:

    This was very easy - i never played any Poison based character before, so i doubted his killing speed on the beginning, but he was extremelly fast and fun to play.Poison Nova is very strong skill (especially with so many + skills from gear), so it was real walk through the rose garden...I started always with casting Bone armor and Clay golem and for the most of the game it was enough for holding enemies far away from to be really dangerous...Really, he was so safe, that i need to use Full rejuv potion just once - when Talic in Hell used his whirl direcly against my necro...But still, i'm pretty sure that more then 400 hitpoins was remaining at the end of his whirl...Anyway i called to aid revives in tough arreas (including Arreat), they were very helpfull and personally i consider them as greatest meatshield in the game...

    So there we have Guardian picture...

    Poison immune - i really did not noticed them...Now seriously, not many of them were remaining after LR, rest of them killed by merc/revives/fire spells

    As for finds - with MF around 0% i've been not expecting much, but reallity was worse then i thought...His best finds were Poison skiller in Act 5 NM and Ravenfrost in Act 5 Hell, i do not remember any other finds...

    Normal/NM/Hell - thats pretty bad

    Future plans:I have something special in my mind prepared for him :-)

    Ahh, i nearly forgot, not long time ago Skunkbelly finished his Trangs based necro, so now You can compared his great necro with mine...


    Thanks for reading this, my fourth character for this sept will be Griswold based Avenger, but after some break...I want to build up my new Blizzer for MF first and then i think will be a time for another untwincked Guardian, who knows...

    As for plans with free sockets, i need to find facets for them...Thats the reason, why im working on my next possible guardian, pure Blizzarder (especially just because i found Yesterday Deaths Fathom)...

    Retirment?Oh no, he will be Pit runner and also i would like to know, how effective he will be in Flayer jungle :-)

    As far as I know the thing is that LR / conviction work at 20% effectiveness when breaking immunities, and further -resist works at full effect if the immunity is broken.

    But I never heard about 1 point lower resist +9 from skills being any different than 10 points into it. Of course more points do help, but not more than the few % you gained from level 10 to 19...

    Synergies work the way you said, and some skills such as resist fire/cold/lightning (paladin) work this way iirc, but not lower resist/conviction.

    So yeah you were probably better off leaving LR at 1 point and investing more into the summoning tree...

    Congrats on the guard, RIP (not like your character died or such :grin: )
    At any case, you have a nice necro out there

    The +skills work normally with LR, just like Soepgroente said. But don't regret putting more points there - it will allow you to break more resistant monsters and also significantly boost your damage against non-immunes. Not to mention you'll become an attractive MP partner :wink3:

    My first ever necro ended up MPing with a lightning javazon for a good part of Hell. I hardly used another skill from the moment she joined - they just seemed so futile..
