    Guardian #39 - Sessaria

It's been a while, hasn't it? Well, my long term goal of getting 49 guardians just got a bit closer. Without further ado, introducing:

Guardian Sessaria - Lvl 79 Amazon

If my count isn't off, that was my last amazon. I wasn't quite sure if I could still pull it off, not having touched the game in over a year, but aparantely I still can.

    Stats:
    Str 110
    Dex 150
    Vit 210

    Life 1037

Due to the items I used, vitality was actually base until Str and Dex were where they are now. The bow I chose to use through nightmare had pretty high requirements. I briefly considered going all dex for her but dismissed that as unnecessary, both in terms of damage gains and risks incurred.

    Relevant Skills:
    Multishot 10
    Guided Arrow 1
    Critical: 7
    Penetrate: 20
    Lightning Fury: 20
    Decoy: 16
    Jab: 1
    Pierce: 8

My idea was to go with multishot primarily and that worked pretty well until act 4 / 5 hell. Alright, from act 1 hell onwards LF had to deal with PIs, of course. Jab was supposed to take care of act bosses. Decoy was a complete and utter waste of points. I chose not to get a valk once again, due to the D/A/E bug and because I knew I dont need a valk. The main reason I dumped those points in decoy was that I wanted to know how much damage it can take if levelled. Not much. I'd have to recast her that often that my net gain would be nill if I used her. So I just move a bit from time to time to avoid getting hit. I probably have a good amount of skillpoints left over, though.

    Gear
The usual suspects, really. A couple slots I chose to leave sub-par items in because I was too lazy to sort through my stashes looking for the perfect item.

    Most notably, the bow:

    Harmony
    Grand Matron Bow
    'TirIthSolKo'
    Two-Hand Damage: 60 to 276
    (Amazon Only)
    Required Dexterity: 152
    Required Strength: 108
    Required Level: 58
Bow Class - Slow Attack Speed
    Item Version: 1.10+ Expansion
    Item Level: 84
    Fingerprint: 0x77af97c8
    +10 to Dexterity
    +271% Enhanced Damage
    +9 to Minimum Damage
    +9 to Maximum Damage
    Regenerate Mana 20%
    Adds 55-160 fire damage
    Adds 55-160 lightning damage
Adds 55-160 cold damage over 6 seconds
    +2 to Light Radius
    +3 to Valkyrie
+2 to Mana After Each Kill
Level 10 Vigor Aura When Equipped
+3 to Bow and Crossbow Skills (Amazon Only)
    Level 20 Revive (6/25 Charges)
    Socketed (4: 4 used)

I really like that one. Vigor is pretty cool. Damage is decent, if not great. Prior to this one, I used a Matriarchal Harmony bow. Also nice. Shoots a little faster but lacks the Grand Matron's punch.

    Other items include:
2 x Ravenfrost (due to laziness)
    Cleglaw's Pinchers
    Atma's Scarab
    Fortitude Archon Plate
    Whilhelm's Pride (Belt)
    Gore Rider
    Blackhorn's Face

The main things I wanted here were 50% slow in total, 5% dual leech (belt) and some open wounds / crushing blow (boots) for act bosses. The 2 raven's I needed to use the matriarchal bow (187 dex needed) and just left them on. Atma's is okay but doesn't really help much, I feel.

    The Journey
Well, there isn't that much to tell, actually. After a year of absence it was neat to get back into the game for a while. The first act I was careful but I picked it up again pretty quickly. By act 3 I was flying as usual. That said, she had a lot of NDEs. Especially in confined areas, this build runs into trouble. More than once she popped into rooms only to find out that OOPS!!! 3 boss packs... She always pulled through, though. 50% slow is really quite brutal. Twice I managed on the last of my 4 rejuvs, though. Close calls. It might have been more prudent to use darksight instead of blackhorn's and slap delirium on my might merc (who wore shaft, vamp and insight (which was unneeded) this time through the game).

As I said earlier, vigor is pretty neat. Almost felt like an assassin on burst of speed. A couple times I shot bosses down at near melee range and outran the cold nova they released on death. Pretty neat.

Act bosses were usually taken care of with Jab. Took a while too. At first I didn't realise why, but then it hit me: I wasn't hitting anything. I only had 5k AR with this one. Again, laziness prompted me to leave it like that. It was good to compare this to my usual approach of either using 3 angelic jewelry or demon limb's enchant. I doubt I will play a lot of AR dependant chars with less than 10k again. All the damage in the world doesn't do me any good if I'm not hitting. Seeing how bow atma's and the ravens were unneeded I should definetly have switched.

The biggest challenge to my characters, usually, are hell ancients. She managed them quite nicely, though, on her first try, without using a single potion. It seemed almost too easy. Again, speed paired with her nasty slow made short work of them.

At any rate, Sessaria is now retired, which she would be anyway, even if I still did MFing. She's not truly suited to run any area, at least not more so than any other of my characters. It's been a fun two days with her, but it's time to move on now. Bye bye, Sessy. On the ancient debate of MS vs Strafe, I still like strafe a lot better and that will not change.

Well, another one down, I have no idea how many to go. I need to take stock of what I have already done one of these days... It might take another year or more, but sooner or later I'll finish this septsept thingy.

    cheers,
    NF

Congrats, yet another guardian, and after a year's break, with easily attainable gear (discounting Fortitude)

It seems you have a lot of skill points left over, no points in pierce?

EDIT: where does sessaria come from?

Thanks He, yea. I like using bargain stuff. Seeing how it took me about 30 guardians to get the runes for fortitude, I do use that as well. I guess that makes me half hobo, half rockefeller.

Good call, I missed that. I do have 8 in Pierce. I was wondering why I had so many points left over.

Oh right, forgot that too cause I didnt use it often. Regular Titan's and Moser's Luna. To be honest I could have used any Javelin, really. The physical damage was uninteresting.
