I'm looking to start my first PvP character, and I want it to be a martial arts assassin.
There seem to be a lot of build options for a PvP sin, so I'm looking for someone to help me narrow it down. Looking for a build that I could tear up pub games with. Having low gear requirements is nice, but not needed, I will save up for gear if needed.
Anyway, links to recommended guides etc. would be much appreciated.
Usually martial arts assassin and PvP don't go together very often (save kickers). Also many assassin builds focus on damage over time, another something that doesn't always lend itself to "tear[ing] up pub games with."
You're right that there are a lot of possible options when it comes to PvP assassins (I think that's what makes them such fun characters to play). Some martial arts using possibilities include but are not limited to: kickers, kick/trappers, kick/bowsins, kick/ww, ww ghosts can utilize dtalon in some matchups, some ww/trappers also utilize kicks or dtalon as well as bows. It seems like the determining factor is to what degree you're intent on using martial arts skills. There are a lot of the aforementioned builds in the guide stickies right at the top of the forum page, take a gander at a few of those to get a better idea what some of those are about. Also mosey on over to the pvp forums, there are plenty of videos showcasing some pretty solid kickers, ghosts, and a ww/trapper that uses dtalon. Do a little reading up and bring any more questions you have about a build that looks particularly interesting right back here. I'm also thinking if this is your first pvp character, something relatively simpler (kicker or trapper) might be the way to start and get the hang of namelocking and trapping from the corners, stunlocking, and other basics.
