Does -% LR on Infinity Help Trap Damage

I know the conviction aura on Infinity is the big thing that helps, but I was told on the -45-55% Lightning Resist that it only affects the merc.

After hitting the enemy once, would the 45-55% be applied to your damage as well or just the mercs?

Or does the 45-55% stack automatically before he even hits to all the enemies around on top of conviction?

    Thanks

I'm pretty sure the -% lr only applies to who is wearing the infinity (the merc).

Correct; The -resistance on an item only affects the player/mercenary using that item.

Huh? the -light resist% doesn't work on traps even if you wear it though the conviction that lowers monster resist will work.

Conviction applies for everyone. -LR% is applied only for that character. Since the game considers traps as minions, the -LR% isn't applied to them (same for +lightning damage).
