Conviction or fanaticism?
Conviction if you want to deal damage.
probably conviction with a knout, divine sceptre or naga or fanat with a bh. 8 fpa is the best you can get with fanat 9 fpa best without, so not a huge difference. BH however can only reach 11 fpa without... I don't recommend a bh anyway.
naga with 90 ias = 9 fpa, naga with 55 ias = 10 fpa, knout or divine sceptre with 60 ias = 9 fpa, bh with lvl 22 fanat and 50 ias = 9 fpa, bh with lvl 23 fanat and 90 ias = 8 fpa.
On my venger I'm using conviction. Not only do you do more damage, it also reduces their defence by some 92%, allowing you to hit more.
Got myself a simple +2 pala runesword and I'm stuck at sucky 11fpa(20ias from Iratha's), since I went for looks on this pala.(not using Holy shield for that same reason)
I needed massive amounts of leech to be able to leech the mana used back. Though I guess one has to factor in that I only got my pala to 62 before I re-made and my runesword only does 26-106 damage. Currently leveling him since I remade him 2 days ago.

If there are, they'll most likely be LoD.
Avengers are very hard to make in Classic.
The one I'm making is mainly for decorative purposes. He'll have good resists(95/95/95/44-ish) and slow kills.
