Meph glitch after act3?

When you use the meph glitch, the bridge to act4 forms. If you take the portal to act4, do you get the quest and break the glitch?

It would be nice to be able to kill izuel and still use the meph glitch.

the bridge forms, but you can't take that portal to act 4 - unless you killed mephy for the quest - in which case you're done glitching per se' anyway.

most of us in the mid 80 cLvl would rather just find an easier way to level via cs runs than the need for the izzy skill quest.

before the a5 hack was packed, there were several glitchers that bypassed act 3 and 4 altogether and just jumped into baal running to get into the cLvl 90 range before jumping back to glitching after it was patched.

it's been a while since I ran into any, but having been blown away by one back in August was a contributing reason when I took my multi-lengthed break from D2

Make sure your character still has quest available, and then join a game where Meph quest is already done by someone else (so you cannot complete the quest even when you kill Meph)

And while we're at it...

I now have a level 53 sorc glitching in NM. 20 orb / 20 mastery / 9 teleport / 2 static. When's the time to go to hell? And how do I survive there, when everything is cold immune?

Maybe it's time I put away my 300% MF equipment and become a full-time glitcher, with enough +skills to beat cold immunes...

I would lvl in cs runs till 60, then go to hell, and get rushed till act 3.
Then you can glitch mephi.
I'm pretty sure that with standard equip you can do hell mephi allready, but it's better to have some extra life.

a) when I join a game, I make sure to check for mephy quest in every game - be they one of the rare hell cow games, a cs run, or a trade game. so long as quest is not available I proceed to look for mephy. in slower games I'll linger around and hill mephy's council for the xp.

b) no, I am not demonik.

and finally c) I have been flirting with the idea of finally questing her. Mephy running has gotten old, and not as productive as it once was, or even as close to as it was in ladder season 3


re: when to move on to glitching - in part that depends on your gear, and confidence. I glitched nm cs and found quite a few useful rares when I was in the low cLvl 60 range.

that being said by level 50 you should be able to self rush yourself with a multitude of red/blue pots, and offering gold for the strategic waypoints. (andy, arcane, travincal and durance 2 come to mind) (some folks like to mf hell-Andy by level 50 which should be do-able with the proper gear/build)

I went so far as to even quest travincal solo. I got lucky with the spawn and only one of the council members was cold immune - even better there weren't any cold immune bloodlord or heirophants things nearby. Killed the entire council save the one cold immune - who as my luck would further hold was fire immune, and not lightning immune. I simply static'ed him down to a sliver, then hired a lightning merc to finish him off.
