Building a axe frenzy, the problem is in the weapons. I had planned on using the ebotdz+edeathz combo for the indes' mods, problem is in finding or rolling 5os eth zerk or buying one, play on east and cant seem to find someone with one for sale. So im left with the only option of using a ebotdz+edeath(ettin).
Will using a ettin for a frenzier be a problem? I believe ive read that the offhand speed of the ettin+ a main hand of ebotdz will be fine to hit last bp. Then theres the matter of reach differnce which in ww is no good, but what about a frenzy barb? Im not worried bout resale value, just a matter of the axe working properly as apposed to a edeathz. ty in advance for any light that can be shed upon my darkness. ps: if there is a better frenzy barb weapon combo please inform. Ive done the grief+lawbringer pb combo already was ok. :undecided:
Using eBotDz and eDeathettin gives you 5 fpa at these IAS points:
@lvl 24 Frenzy you'll need 69% off weapon IAS
@lvl 27 Frenzy you'll need 65% off weapon IAS
@lvl 31 Frenzy you'll need 60% off weapon IAS
In other words, you'll need Hilords|LoH|15%IAS in Arreats|Nos Belt at lvl27 Frenzy to hit 5fpa.
Compared to eBotDz and eDeathz:
@lvl 24 Frenzy you'll need 49% off weapon IAS
@lvl 27 Frenzy you'll need 45% off weapon IAS
@lvl 31 Frenzy you'll need 42% off weapon IAS
As you can see, just a minor change in base weapon speed makes considerable difference, when aiming for that final bp. Besides this additional ias needed, ettin axe will kick butt when it comes to damage output, even out does Berserker axe.
As for Range difference (3 Zerker 2 Ettin) I havent noticed a problem, yet.
More testing/info needed on that.
Thx for the info span, very insightful, I recently was able to track down a edeathz so that solved that problem. Instead of making a new thread I thought I'd just post here one lil question I have.. How bad is 1pt WW. Is it effective enough or will the damage ar and lack of max shout be a problem and not worth it in the end? Trying to fit WW might be a bad idea and cant have my cake and well ya know. TY.
Dunno, never made ww before..
I've done 1 pt WW before on a Frenzy guy, it's OK as a defensive/evasive attack (whirling out & away) in case you get swamped, or run into the dreaded extra fast/strong/cursed Frenzy Lords... but your warcries can take care of these problems as well. Howl will scatter a pack that's a bit too large, Battle Cry will take the edge off strong melee opponents, War Cry will stun them for a moment.
If you want WW as a main attack endgame, you should go all the way and make a Whirler. Separate Barb that is.
