Just started playing D2 again, picked up barb first time, a few questions

hey guys, like i said i just started playin again after a nice long time (i was on back in the days when bstar n the lightsabre were the best things out there >.<) and i have some questions on the trading system nowadays and a question or two about throwing barbs as im trying to make one.

i know just about nothing in the way of trading anymore, seems to me perfect gems are worth something now (news to me) - could anyone tell me how much there worth? also i found an um doing the forge how would that trade these days?

and relating to a throwing barb would anyone know about how high my damage with double throw should get? im still a ways off from the level im aiming for and my gear is nothing short of crap but my damage is higher than i thought itd be.

err i guess thats about all i need to know for now but any information anybody wants to add about anything really would be appreciated much

pgem converts to um rune at about 70 i beleive. pul is 35-40. lem = 20, Ko=10

most uniques including lightsabre and bstar can be bought with pgems.

runewords is what its all about now so anything godly will cost you in some rune or another. completed good runewords cannot generally be bought with pgems.

thanks for the info, so what im getting ot of this is that itd be wise to try and convert my stash of pgems into a few puls and then put those into trading for my gear. would it also be smart to try and cash in the um for however many puls i could get with it? i noticed before i could get nearly anything with it but the things i need are way under the price of an um

one thing you could do is in the appropriate forum is make a thread "um for best barb setup" and explain your needs. people will then start bidding and try to equip you.

and as far as your damage you might want to do a search for a damage calculator, i don't know where they are, but you've got a few things working on your damage here:
1) double swing synergy, which is up to 160% bonus;
2) throw mastery;
3) stats bonus. I beleive it's 50str/50dex so every point you've applied just to be able to use stuff is counting towards your damage

dunno all the specifics but this should start the ball rolling
