Unsocket an item

I have a giant skull thats already been socketed. 2 sockets.

If I use the Hel rune +tomb to unsocket it... does both jewels unsocket?
is there a way that I keep the jewels?

There is no way to keep them, you will end up with empty sockets.

Both jewels will be lost. Unsocketing is an all or nothing process.

I just tried using Hel rune + 1 tomb and Giant skull... but it didn't clear.... any ideas?
