    What to place in 1 socket?

    Hello all,

    Anyone have any ideas for the one socket in this weapon for my SP Lvl 41 WW Barb?

    Fiend Star
    Martel de Fer (gold)
    2Hand Dam: 139-222
    40% IAS
    125% ED
    +2 Min Dam
    +32 AR
    7% Life
    +50% Dam Undead
    One Socket

    Any ideas will be appreciated.

    Great idea: Shael

    I concur. Shael would bump IAS up to Very Fast.

    Next question: IK Maul has 2 sockets and I was thinking Shael and Mal to stop healing in Hell when I get there. Any other suggestions?

    IK Maul needs 29% IAS to get to last BP, so two shaels or 2 15% jewels or some mix would be best I'd think.

    I concur, gotta hit that break point.

    Also some poison damage will negate monstor regeneration and is much easier to come by than Mal runes.

    Thumbs up Maul Socketing Ideas

    Sounds like I will have to use 2 Shael to get the IAS bump.

    I actually have a Mal rune so finding one will not be a big deal. The poison idea is sweet.

    Thanks to all who gave input. I'm not going to socket the IK Maul for a while so any other ideas are welcome.

    Seriously dont waste a Mal on an IK Maul. Mals are hard to come by as are most Mid - High runes in SP. Id shoot for 2 15% IAS jewels with some other mod on them, preferably some sort of dmg mod. Like Dave said, having any poison damage at all will negage monster regen for the duration of the poison.

    On that note, all my meelee chars (that don't use poison as their main attack) and all my new chars start off with a small charm that gives some poison damage.

    Iirc thyiad stabbed one of the hell ancients to death with a wizspike and a poison charm to negate the regen because her merc was being useless.

    Do the ancients regenerate? If they do it must be pretty slowly.

    Open wounds are also a slow but effective way of taking them down.
