Guilleam's face lol...

My merc gets pwned by monsters with fanta or might aura on. Oh and he gets really smashed by the hydras when doing travs... even though his fire resistant in hell is 75. I think its the problem with helmet. Please tell me some suggestions for better gear so that my merc dosent get pwned...

Individually all of the gear's very good but the end result is you have no life steal. An andariel's visage or vampire gaze could help you out with that at the sacrifice of CB without dramatically changing your setup.

You could even ber the vampgaze and of course you would ral or 15ias/30 fires jewel the andy's.

Hydras do 6x as much damage to Mercs as they do to Players. If max resists plus life leech doesn't cut it, just try to avoid/dodge them.

As already said, your merc needs life leech. The more, the better. A blizzard sorc doesn't need Insight on a merc IMO, as blizzard has a cast delay and she should regain it quickly enough. Replace it with a weapon with leech and you can keep that Guillaume's or use a weapon which has CB and give him Andy's Visage+Ral (IAS/fire res jewel only if it's a really good one, e.g. when ethereal).

Also, a merc is not a pinata.

Feed him potions and use teleport to get him into safety.

i use mine merc as a pinata =D

a pinata that never breaks and instead of giving candy to those that wack him, he breaks them instead XD

but if you do see your merc's health low, it's better to feed him a full rev, think about it, 50k + time spend getting him or a full rev?

with ur equip, ur merc shouldn't be getting owned that easy o.0 my bowa's merc with a eth pride/eth fort/random rare helm with no leech can tank hell trav fine o.0 (well i guess decoy/valk takes some of the load off, but even if he gets hit with alot of hydra 1-2 full rev would be enough. and mine is a might merc, he don't even have holy freeze to slow things down =D)

but like ppl said, change ur helm with some leech and he shouldn't die easy

I canīt see anything wrong with your set up. (this helmet is imba - dont change it!) I dont belive that LL would help your merc against hydras or champion packs. My merc has 0 LL and never dies - not because he is so strong but because my sorc never LETS him die :grin:

As a sorc you have best in game possibility to escape when you see that your merc friend gets owned. Just use your 1 point i tele and you will be ok.
If you expect that ANY merc will be *inmortal* - doesnt matter what YOU do - you will be frutrated.

I absolutely agree - it helps a lot but ... not in all situations :laugh: And just these *situations* as Meph or examples mentioned by original poster use to be most problematical for people.

I think your advice was a good one for a blizz user who must switch functions on his right button (blizz/tele) and is much less mobile than orb/f boll sorc. The only thing I mean is that even the best gear cant do duty for the tactics.
