On classic, no charms means you can recover EVERY ITEM YOU USED if you die on a hardcore char, assuming you gave someone loot permission.
Also, much better item system, and on ladder the best of the best items are truly unique, not just a 415ebotdz that owns a 414ebotdz. You can have a lower damage weapon that can own a higher dmg wep just due to rare mods, its not all about a few variables on a runeword. You also can't gear your merc, and they don't move between acts, so they're useless.
Not to clutter this thread but one of the things that also appeals to me about classic is that having a trained eye matters. In LoD any new player can just memorise names of items in cookie-cutter setups. Like the best setup for such and such is such and such runeword/unique/set, etc. In d2c all the rares make everything much more relative. You're left with no, shall we say, point of reference and a much deeper understanding of game mechanics is required to make the right choices.
you dont have to keep 10charms in your inventory to make your char work
seriously, I hate keeping the stash in my inventory, because I also have to wear 8charms to make my char effective
there should be an inventory for "unused objects/charms" and "used charms" in LOD
no "goodnews" spam bots
seriously, cant blizzard just ****ing ban them all?
This is good enough to put into the build guide and other stuff sticky. I will place it there and unstick this to let it float or sink. But at least it is saved now for posterity.
Rose: You're an alien? You sound like you're from the North.
Doctor: LOTS of planets have a North!!!
Even though I prefer classic, I like the baal bots on LoD, because I love PKing them, which crashes most of them and gives me lots of gambling gold. A few weeks ago I PKed nearly every baal bot running overnight, and only a handful actually continued to run. There were trade games up, but no baals.
On the other hand, on classic myself and Akukami have had fun raiding every game until there's none left. LoD you can't end games :(
If you could do this more often to make it such that there are less unscrupulous players attributing to realm lag, it would be appreciated.Originally Posted by Zodijackyl
I too would do that... except one night when I was playing I tele down and end dying because the "bot" that was running was not acctually a bot... but a very quiet and dedicated person.... so I lost about half a bar of exp on my sorc....Originally Posted by Zodijackyl

Thanks to all. This was really helpful for me, and it will make my gaming experience a little easier the first few times around.
See you on classic in a few weeks![]()
