Microsoft Vista and DII issues

I just got my new laptop. Instaled vista. And everything went poop. I can't run Diablo2Lod at all. I start the program and it makes a bunch of flashes like its trying to start, then the whole computer will turn off and say there was an error. I finaly got it not to shut down. Instaled all Vista updates and programs. Now I try to start Diablo2Lod and it says there was an error and cannot function or something. I have it in Windows XP compatibility and everything and it still doesn't work. Any help?

This is what shows up when I'm trying to run LoD... D2 runs perfectly when I install it but as soon as LoD is installed it just f*** everything up... Anyone seen this before and what can I do???

I don't get that everyone is experiencing so much trouble with Vista. Have you tried updating every single thint? I.e. mobo, vidcard, software?

microsoft is having enough problems with vista that they need to fix, but they still neglect most of the video games and what not, because most companies are begining to make their games xp and 2000 compatible, rather than just vista and xp

There could be a hardware issue, maybe ur video card does not support D2 considering it is and old game, but than again, there was a patch realeased that should of fixed this.

dunno if i am allowed to say this or not tbh, but i will as so many peeps takl about bots.

But is it possible to use mh on vista?

i was thinking about it today as it gets more and more boring by the minute... teleing baal...

no questions or recommendations about mh or how to use mh are allowed. I know alot of people use Mh on this site, and i know the mods know about it too. It doesnt matter if u use it or not, just keep it to yourself and everything will b alright

i can start up the game and it works fine but there is black around my screen... like if your watching a movie on wide screen, the black on the top and bottom of the screen.. well its on the sides too..what should i do?

I assume you play fullscreen? I think your monitor resets the window to the 800x600 resolution the game has and blacks out the rest. Try searching for an option in your monitor menu that says something about native resolution or something.
