Re: Microsoft Vista and DII issues

Sorry for the double post everyone but I just want people to know that I got it to work, I dunno if it was my discs during the installation or something but I downloaded the entire Diablo + LoD + Patch from a torrent and installed it with my own keys and the game works fine now. (Before installing i removed all previously installed Diablo II files including the ones in the registry) If anyone else is having the same problem I did, just contact me for details on how I fixed it.

Re: Microsoft Vista and DII issues

Just got myself a new Dell Lappy and all the specs are fine for DII LoD, installation works etc etc.

Well here's my problem with DII LoD + Vista... I've tried everything you guys have stated in the forum, however my problem is still the same. DII LoD runs smoothly and stuff, but it's connecting to battle.net in general that doesn't work... just says "unable to connect to battle.net". I've got the latest patch, done all the stuff with the router and that, however i just can't connect to battle.net! Any help would be great. Thanks

Re: Microsoft Vista and DII issues

Trying to load on new vista computer....

Loads to front screen where you can choose battle.net, single play, etc... and then freezes when you click, before the options show up.

Diablo II Error tab is open when I minimize, message is...

    Halt
    Location: , line #94
    Expression: Unrecoverable internal error 6ff2f229

Anyone have any idea what this is?

I've already changed compatabilty to XP (SP2) and program is authorized as administrator.

    Any help greatly appreciated, Ryan

BTW, I know this is a 1.11 forum but i didn't see anyplace else to post this

Re: Microsoft Vista and DII issues

I have a problem. My screen is choppy when I run around even though the framerate says 150. I bought this new computer yesterday with ati radeon hd 3450, 6gb ram and a quad-core processor. I thought it would be at least good enough to run diablo ii... Its in direct3d. It runs okay in directdraw but then the mouse is delayed. I tried running the game on just one cpu with no luck. I set it to run in windows xp compatibility and checked in all settings in the shortcut properties except to run in the low resolution, also set to run in administrator mode. I really dont know what else to do now.

Re: Microsoft Vista and DII issues

    Hello guys,

I am still interested to play Diablo 2 even though its an old game. I plan to get a new laptop to play games but haven't yet. Unfortunately most laptops these days comes with Vista and even if I can get one in XP, I might not want to..

    So my ques are :

    1) If I play Diablo 2 in Vista is it guarenteed that my game will crash?

    2) Is it better or advisable to play Diablo 2 under XP instead?

    3) What should I do if I encounter any problems? Any links or guidance?

This thread really freaks me out. It gives me the impression that Vista is bound to give Diablo 2 problems.

    Thx guys.

    Hello everybody.
I bought myself a brand-new computer a few weeks ago.

I installed Diablo 2 to my new computer, but when i tried to run the game, an error occurred:

    unhandled exception: access_violation (c0000005)

I've never had this error before. Can you give me any advice?

I play diablo through virtualpc linux host vista guest.

    1) It hasn't crushed for me yet.

    2) Probably, vista suck.

    3) if you play window mode, don't use -ns command line switch. Disable 3d and stuff like perspective and shadows.

Re: Microsoft Vista and DII issues

Im running on vista and the game runs silky smooth, but I am getting the Unhandled Exception Error C0000005. I can play on B.NET for around 3 hours with a character. Ive made it to level 20 and then I leave join a new game and its working fine. A few games later I get the error when trying to join a game. I dont understand why it lets me play for a short period of time and then crashed for no apparent reason. Ive done Sandisk, Defrag, Reinstall, and Ive made a new character to play with and the same thing happend to him after getting a full rush to hell, lvl 15. So nothing has worked and Im stuck.
