I just got a new computer with vista and it will not recognize the diablo II cd. It wont pop up the screen neither will IT show up in my computer. Im sure this has been answered but i cant find an answer =(
ok nvm i downloaded but now it keeps saying insert disk..
I have a DELL laptop with Vista Home Premium, AMD 2.0GHz, ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 and my problem is this: I installed D2 with LoD with the latest patch with no problem, but when I try running it, nothing happens. In the Task Manager I can see 2 new process running: Game.exe and DiabloII.exe but nothing at all happens. I already changed the compatibily mode to XP SP2 and tried running it as an administrator, but still nothing, not an error message or anything else, it just does nothing. What can I do??
Actually, if you look at the top left corner of your screen, you should see some characters appear, one at a time, in black. I am stuck on the same thing.
You may want to go to the game's folder, right click on game.exe, go to "compatibility" and disable the screen composition feature, run it in XP comp mode, and see what happens. Beyond that, I haven't found much help with this.
I'm trying to install D2 but when i put the cd in my cp comp, it doesnt auto run. I open the cd folder and my computer isnt recognizing the install file. its asking me what I would like to open it with. Please help :(
Hi all.
So, I have d2+expansion installed on my desktop at home. I decided to go on vacation, and installed on my new laptop with vista home premium installed.
Now, I can log into bnet just fine. I can browse the games, look at ladder ratings, etc. But the moment I try to join a game, it freezes up, and I have to enter task manager to close it. It loads single player games just fine.
Anyone have any ideas at all? Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks
Dunno if this will help, and sorry if I am restating anything previously stated, as I just browsed the first couple pages, but no (EDIT: major) problems here with Windows Vista after I went through the following processes:
1) Set it to run as an administrator (the shortcut)
2) Set it to run in Microsoft XP Compatibility Mode (again, through the shortcut)
3) Downloaded the latest patch, which I remember as stating that it was supposed to fix the compatibility issues
Btw, I'm running an Acer Aspire 6920, with an Intel Core 2 Duo 1.83GHz processor, an integrated Mobile Intel Graphic Media Accelerator X3100, with 3GB DDR2. Its a laptop, btw.
The only thing that I have had problems with is putting my computer to sleep while D2 is loaded up. When I un-sleep and try to bring DII back up, it auto-sends me back to desktop unless I restart. So I've found as long as I close D2 before I put my computer to sleep, all is fine.
I have a windows vista and i tried downloading DII but the autorun wont come up and it wont recognize the CD.... help....plz...
That "shouldn't" be a Vista issue as far as I know. When you say it won't recognize the CD, you mean that the drive never actually acknowledges the fact that there is a CD in there? If it was simply not auto-running, you could right click the CD drive, explore or view files, and then start up the setup.exe...
Hmm, make sure that its not the CD giving you the problem I would say. Try it on another computer if you can to see if you have the same issue.
I have searched forums everywhere for an error similar to mine so that I could try and fix it, but it seems like I'm the only one on the planet with this problem so hopefully someone here can help me if I describe it to you.
Computer Specs:
Alienware m5550 - T7200 Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz Processor - 2GB DDR2 RAM - ATI Radeon X1400 128MB Video Card - 160GB Harddrive 4MB Cache - Windows Vista Home Basic (32 Bit)
Problem:
It was the first time Diablo II was ever installed on this computer, It installed perfectly, and then upgraded to LOD, no problems whatsoever. I could run the game and play singleplayer if I wanted to, But after connecting to Battle.net, I downloaded the patch. After it installed the patch, when I try to run the game this is the error I get:
Game:
This Application has encountered a critical error:
Not enough storage is available to process this command.
Program: C:\Program Files\Diablo II\Game.exe
File: ..\3rdParty\STORM\SOURCE\SFILE.CPP
Line: 1632
Press OK to terminate the application.
(Options are OK or Cancel, Ok does nothing. If I push canel the following box appears)
Diablo II Exception
UNHANDLED EXCEPTION:
BREAKPOINT (80000003)
I've tried reinstalling multiple times, looked at other forums and tried minor registry editing, but nothing changes anything. I'm running it as administrator and in XP SP2 compatibility mode. Any suggestions? If you need any more information to help me please ask.
Thanks.
