Question about Runewords

Hey All,
I know that you can remove sockets out of any item.. of course, losing the jewel/rune etc. in the process..
I was wondering... for a runeword, for example a CTA. could you put it in the cube, i believe with a hel rune, and unsocket all 5 sockets? I am only wondering because I have been unable to fiend a 5 socket phase blade and I have been trying to make a grief runeword.

It should lose all five runes, if I recall right.

yes if you put any runeword in the cube and transmute with hel and tp scroll everything disappears except for the base weapon or armor.

yes you do lose all five runes..

OR you can just find a phase blade. I don't remember the names of them but that have the level requirment and have them socketed in the act 5 quest 1.

Also, you can re-role a socket item or maybe it was adding sockets by cubing it? I could be wrong.

Maximum number of possible sockets by ilevel of item

Ilevels of items by area

Remember bosses etc have a higher level than standard monsters but it should give you a good guide.
