    From my experience in Hell, no, I don't need a merc to survive. Then again, I'm sure it'll be much easier with a merc, since I am chugging a ton of potions.

    You're looking at upwards of 20 high runes, I'm thinking. I was incredibly fortunate in my quest for gear, as I picked up a nice resist all + life SC that paid for nearly all of my gear. But, yeah, I would say that the cost is around 20 HRS.

    hmm sounds like im gonna need a merc then so what about 4 frame attack? requirement or preference?

    ...ne body?? 4 frame attack needed?? i was thinking of going with dracs, maras, and ice merc, but if i need 4 frame attack then i n eed to rethink...

    well, no one ever responded, so i kept my plan and went with dracs and maras, and everything is going swimingly. this is possibly the most fun ive ever had playing d2 (contends with my buriza fury druid of old). Thanks for the guide but just for kicks now i guess, or maybe ill end up re-gearing, whats the big deal about 4 frame attack????

    Sorry, I've been gone for a couple of weeks. Here's the deal. The 4 frames per attack isn't needed but is more than just suggested. Getting that breakpoint effectively gives you 25% more damage on your attack. Not only does that mean you kill faster, but that means you leech better, you cast your 'chance to cast' spells faster, and you keep the enemy packs from crowding up on you as fast and getting you into a bad situation. Those combined make for a huge defensive advantage. So, no, it's not necessary, but you'll be a lot more effective if you do hit it.

    As far as your merc goes, he is not necessary either. But they can supply you with a few key advantages in addition to a lot of smaller ones. Holy Freeze from either the act 2 merc or act 1 merc w/ Ice bow slows enemies down so much the defensive advantage is awesome. An Act 1 Faith Merc can be your easy solution to getting that 4 frames per attack. Other than that, read the merc section of the guide. You'll see that they aren't necessary, but they certainly do help.

    Where cost is concerned, like I said, this build is extremely expensive. Here's a little break down that will vary a lot depending on where you play, how effective and lucky you get at trading, and how good of stuff you get.

    Dream Helm=2 for runes+1 for helm=3 hr's
    Highlords=2 hr's
    HoJ=3 for runes+1 for PB=4 hr's
    Armor=2 for runes+1 for armor=3 hr's
    Shield=2 for runes+3 for shield=5 hr's
    Gloves=2 for rare/crafted
    Belt=1 hr
    Boots=1 hr
    Ravenfrost=1 hr
    Rare ring=3 hr's
    Anni=7 hr's
    PTorch=7 hr's

    Total=39 High Runes

    Now of course that's going to vary. So you can expect to pay 35-50 High Runes to get decked out. On top of that, your merc can cost you anywhere from 4-15 High Runes depending on what kind you use. It may seem like quite an endeavor, but don't think you'd have to pay for everything in HR's. Lord knows that I pretty much didn't use high runes for mine unless I was making a runeword.

    Nice parody to a holy hand grenade from Monty Phyton. :laugh:
    So my question is: If I want use Act 1, which one is better? (Cold one can slow enemies, but fire arrows has longer range than cold arrows.)

    Actually, it was a parody of Mojo Jojo from the Powerpuff Girls. rop:

    I've never heard that Fire arrows have longer range, but if you are right, then the principle that the Ice arrow is always better might warrant some scrutiny. I personally always use Ice because the damage difference between the two is insignificant and Ice can freeze them considerably. But if you are right, then Fire could be an option. Dunno :scratch:

    Brilliant Guide! I got Clervis' own Auradin and he is so godly! I will never touch his items and I will try it out in PvM as you said Clervis. It will be kind of tough to get used to the controls though. XD

    I just got my Auradin to level 80 and i have to tell you I am having a blast with it. I have been going through completing all my old quests and everything just pops as I run through the area, its extremely fun. In Baal runs everyone loves me with the conviction aura all the monsters go down super fast. My only problem so far is my resistances, I need to find a way to get around 15 more, so it looks like charms for me. Great build it really is a ton of fun

    I'm glad you like it. Yea, resists are probably the hardest thing to overcome, but remember that you're not shooting for 175 resist all, but around 190 thanks to synergies and Dragon. The most important thing is to find a shield with a lot of resists. It took me a about 3 weeks to find a 3 socket Sacred Targe with +44 resists--wasn't cheap either. Then when I rolled it, it came out with +19 so it was darn near perfect, 63 out of 65 possible!

    I agree, I am going for the 190 mark on resists. My sacred Targe I finally found with 44 on it, but I only rolled a plus 12 so it's a good shield but may be worth re rolling and losing some hrs. Not sure yet, but seriously considering because of the good base resists
