heh, you seem to be more considerate than a lot of people for one, which imho is a quality more easily found in women
yep, but my accname is a very.. mutated form of my real name, remove "an" from it and youre there
and really, i think you might agree that people who cant be called weird in a way are just boring
ive got plenty of weird, and im sure that a gal playing videogames is called weird by a lot of people
i am more inclined to ask.. why do you?
because of that im sure a female gamer could give a clearer answer on this (my girlfriends answer was pretty elaborate and interesting). dudes get their reasons banged in their heads by society anyways.

edit: yeah i edited again, told ya  and by big names i meant high-rollers if you know what i mean.. frequent posters which are known for whatever activity thay mostly do on etf (trading socialising, whathaveyou)
what other games do you play actually? (also genres, like fps or rts for example?)

I only talk to people the way I would expect to be spoken to, which I think is what everyone would want. It's just that sometimes they say something without thinking what they are actually saying, then regret it because it's too late to take it back.
That helps a lot, actually. I knew it wasn't pronouced exactly as it was spelled. :grin:yep, but my accname is a very.. mutated form of my real name, remove "an" from it and youre there
Yes, but you know that when a weird person calls someone else weird, there must be something wrong with them. Unless you want me to just say "Tom is boring." :hide:and really, i think you might agree that people who cant be called weird in a way are just boring
Of course they do, but I already knew I was weird to begin with. ^^ive got plenty of weird, and im sure that a gal playing videogames is called weird by a lot of people

I play because I enjoy doing it. I used to play PS2/Game Cube/GBA SP/etc. until I got my computer. When I tried "online play (my brother practically "forced" me to try D2)," I found that I really liked it - mainly for the opportunity to talk with people from all over. I am a rather quiet person in real life, but I do so much enjoy meeting new people.
Bah, curse the four smiley limit! I use too many of them sometimes anyway.
Curses again! *insert /rant smiley here*
The ETF isn't the only place I "frequent," actually. I spend a lot of time in most other subforums as well - there are only a few I don't visit. As for types of games, I prefer RPG type games. I'm not really very good at the FPS games - my aim sucks so bad it's not even funny...
The only games I am playing at the moment is Diablo and WoW. I think I mentioned earlier that I play on three realms for D2 (currently working on my lightning sorceress on Europe), and have only just started playing WoW occasionally about two months ago.
if you like meeting new people from all over, and if youre young enough, you might wanna try a holiday-job in a youth hostel. it really is an eye-opening experience, even if youre more on the shy side (and i used to be, but im good at hiding it, force yourself to be more outgoing and honest to people and even if they dont like you, youll earn their respect along with other people's who do), also lotsa people like good listeners as a lot of silent people also are
i had a job in a hostel once (dont know how to call it exactly in english, civil punishment, court order for something i had done while living a little..) and the people i met... really... there was a texan aspiring philosopher and without him, id still be on my toes when talking to us people in general :embarassed:
as for andaryzza, its a name of a neutragonist (eh?) on a story ive got in my head, its pronounced (+-, m not native english n all) an-dah-ridz-ah, the a's sound a bit like the one in the word 'and', the i as in 'is'... sry, whatever
lol, my gf has the same problem, tried some shooters with her over lan, but the only thing she gets is serious sam (makes diablo's critterswarms look likenothing)
any other games you liked before?

I'm not really shy anymore - haven't been for many years - but I am the quiet type. I can talk for a while when the right subject comes up. I've learned not to worry too much about what people think of me - if they don't like me for some reason that's their problem, not mine.
I don't have the time to volunteer at something like that, I work full time.
Something like community service, maybe?i had a job in a hostel once (dont know how to call it exactly in english, civil punishment, court order for something i had done while living a little..) and the people i met... really... there was a texan aspiring philosopher and without him, id still be on my toes when talking to us people in general
I understood what you meant the last time. :laugh:as for andaryzza, its a name of a neutragonist (eh?) on a story ive got in my head, its pronounced (+-, m not native english n all) an-dah-ridz-ah, the a's sound a bit like the one in the word 'and', the i as in 'is'... sry, whatever
The channel is public chat etf. I didn't want to take that thread completely off-topic, so I "moved" it here. ;PStop editing like that!
I played mostly PS2 and GBA SP before I got my computer. Actually was playing Pokemon for a while before then. I have too many PS2 games I like to list them here.![]()
mind me asking what your job consists of? (i study english-french, well im gonna start soon)
isnt community service what you do instead of military service? as if it is, that law was abandoned ~5 years before i hit 18 here in belgium.
i meant the alternative 'punishment' (well, except for the financial part, that hostel thing was very cool actually) a judge gives instead of jail.. its what they give people who arent really a threat to society, but have to get punished anyhow as thats how the system works. its also what celebrities get quite a lot when misbehaving, lol
hehehe, pokemon on gb rocked
and if id stop editing, this conversation would have had triple its posts at least
youll see, this particular post might even double in size before i hit the new post button![]()
thx for that channel btw, i already figured out i was in the right place, but it was just empty before you told.
*andaryzza
My job? US Navy, working in Corrections at the moment.
Community service, here anyway, is something you can get instead of jail time. Depending on the situation, you could also get "house arrest," where you wear a tracking thing on your ankle for the duration of your "punishment." What you are saying sounds a lot like a detention center, often where they send people that are not considered adults yet.
Don't double post by any means, it's just a pain to keep editing every time you do. :azn:
This is nice, I haven't had a "real" conversation like this in a long time. You see, you did it again!
The channel is often empty this time of night, and when there are people there they are often AFK. You are better to have been there about 4+ hours ago. :azn:
nah it wasnt a detention centre, i was 20 when it happened and the job was last year.
its community service as you said. if i hadnt done it i would have had 5 months jail (probably 1~2 effective, i dunno)
lol, your job reminded me of rachel sexton, a protagonist in deception point by dan brown (almost finished, i find it a bit corny from time to times, but theres a lot of cool information about the us politics and such, which keep it all very interesting)
and this is nice indeed, its exactly why i like dii.net
*andaryzza
and there you are
Ah, mind if I ask what for?
I don't think I've read that one yet, then again I haven't really read much since I started playing video games. I did read one book last month. Dragon's Kin by Anne and Todd McCaffrey. I love the Dragonrider's of Pern series.lol, your job reminded me of rachel sexton, a protagonist in deception point by dan brown (almost finished, i find it a bit corny from time to times, but theres a lot of cool information about the us politics and such, which keep it all very interesting)
Definately one reason why I spend so much time here, and not so much in the game anymore.and this is nice indeed, its exactly why i like dii.net
I was waiting for minutes! Figures I would find you "afk" in the afk'ers channel. :azn:and there you are
i dont mind sharing what ive done wrong, but i dont want it to be somewhere for all to read, without me telling it -human psychology
well, same thing more or less, started reading again after bob (texan dude from the hostel) had recommended me some books
and since ive been on a reading frenzy again..
have anything to recommend yourself?
im into anything that makes me think, teaches me something or just literary pieces that you-must-have-read-or-youre-an-intellectual-retard, you know what i mean
*andaryzza
I know, I wasn't expecting you to post about it here. :wink3:
I'm more into the Science-Fiction/Fantasy type novels, ever since I was young. Actually got into reading with the Goosebumps series. :grin:well, same thing more or less, started reading again after bob (texan dude from the hostel) had recommended me some books

I know the type, and I don't read many of those anymore. Maybe I should look at getting another book. :scratch:have anything to recommend yourself?
