    Re: Glide wrapper

Decided to make a reply to better illustrate what this wrapper does.

For information purposes, i gotta say it worked fine 1st try here.
Both Alt+Tab and the -w parameter to play window mode works fine.

    Follow these steps:

    1. Download it here
    2. Extract it to game folder
    3. Run D2VidTest.exe (if you use Win 7 / Win 8, you might have to run the vidtest tool with Windows 95 compatibility set)
    4. Run the Test and after it finishes, select Glide and click OK.

Here are screenshots to noticed the differences.

    Direct Draw mode - Fullscreen
Game running stable with nice graphics and 22 - 25 fps

    directdraw - 23fps.jpg

    Direct 3D (D3D) - Full Screen
Game running real slow, movement is impaired and graphics are darker and uglier

    d3d.jpg

    Glide Wrapper - Fullscreen
Beaultiful graphics, game run incredibly faster and stable,
Seems to load a lot faster too.

    glide.jpg

Also i didnīt think it was possible to improve the graphics comparing to DirectDraw, but if you download these screenshots on your computer and put them side-by-side to compare, youīll see that Glide makes the details look nicer, like the drops of rain, the details on the grass and fire, and the colors are a bit more cololfull, just like the Voodoo cards were compared to nVidia at the time.
nVidia had the best performance, but the colors always looked nicer on 3dfx cards. I still own my Voodoo 4 4500 that i used for many many years, so its a empirical statement. :P

Here are screenshots using Window mode, and window maximized on a 1920x1080 desktop resolution, to check the upscales.

It worth it to have this wrapper.
At least it was for me.

My pc specs are Core i5 @ 3.30 and a GForce GTS 450 1gb GDDR5, so its kinda ridiculous that d3d canīt handle a game so old.
    Hope this helps.

    Re: Glide wrapper

Here is the "poison glow" everyone is talking about

    Poison Glow in DirectDraw Mode

Other types of glows also look nicer, but the green one really stands out.
