Question on upping my arreats.

alrite so i bought this on bnet after perm testing (joined 10 games right after another) seller told me it was "permed" whatever that means. i asked him if it was legit and he just said "permed." so that's what it is. (anyone know what that means?)

i also wanted to know if the indestructable stat on the arreat would disapear if i upped this.
and if i do up it, what is the next str req on it?

The upgraded strength req will be 186. The indestructability will remain.

i'm sort of sure that the indestructible mod will disappear. this is a "zod bugged" item. i had a "zod bugged" HoZ that i actually tested the upping thing on and it lost its indestructible mod.

Another thing worth considering is that Arreat's Face is one of those items that can potentially get lower defense after being upgraded.

You could be getting as low as 519 def after upgrading.

As nubikoen said. Upgrading an item like arreats mean you risk a potential lower defense than you started with.

Making this on an extremely rare item (zod bugged ethereal) is like making a dress out of $10 bills, soak yourself with gasoline and then wear it while juggling with torches.

You probably won't lose the indestructible mod, but nevertheless taking the risk is NOT worth it.

If it was, say, a normal ethereal Arreat's Face, then I would say upgrade it and slap it on an Act 5 Merc. It would be a nice change to all the Act 2 Mercs running around these days. Even Rogue mercs are becoming cookie-cutter with the advent of the Faith runeword.

Go go the ultra-stylish Barb merc with eth upped Arreats, eth Fortitude Sacred (yup he'll have the str to use it) and eth Last Wish CB or eBotD CB (or even Grief PB...). Let the pwnage ensue? I guess.
