    Leon - The Professional

A really good Luc Besson movie starring Jean Reno, Natalie Portman (her first movie, if I'm not mistaken) and Gary Oldman in the lead roles. This a very different kind of movie, about a hitman who suddenly gets the neighbour girl in his hands when her family gets killed by crooked cops.

It's a very interesting story, with some fantastic acting from both Jean Reno and Gary Oldman, as well as from young Natalie Portman. A movie I've watched over and over again since the first time I saw it many years ago. I reckon it as being one of the best movies made in the 90s.

    9/10

    Resident Evil - The Extinction

You know what, actually not too bad. There was more of a plot and some actual character development. The movie flowed OK, but there was still lots of action and special effects.

You must be watching a totally different movie from everyone else out there, because they said there was almost no plot or character development.

Instead of "everyone else", maybe go see the movie yourself then.

Exactly the same thoughts that I had. Although, forgive me for this, but for the life of me I can't figure it out. Was everything she experienced 'real', or was it all in her head?

I think the point was to let that be decided by the watcher. And I could find peace in that decision. It doesn't always have to be up to the director you know.
In my experience it just slightly went toward the girls imagination. But too many things were impossible if that were entirely true.

if it wasnt in her head, then that's one of the most depressing movies ever. if it was, then slightly less depressing.

are you a half empty person or a half full one?

I have to agree. I don't even recall the movie putting this up to discussion. I sort of just assumed it was real myself.
