Daniel Radcliffe isn't particularly good or bad really, he was a child actor picked for looking like Harry rather than acting like him so you can't expect much. He's a fairly simple standard protagonist character anyway so it doesn't matter all that much. The large supporting cast is mostly very strong, the only one I had a serious problem with was Dumbledore, neither Richard Harris nor Michael Gambon were even close.
But they're all still crap.
Oh yeah, I meant to see that.
I thought so at first, but then I had some McDonald's after not having had any in a year and immediately felt a bit ill. It wasn't a coincidence, I tried it a couple of times later as well.
Transformers
Basically, if you want to like this movie you will, if you want to hate it I'm sure you'll find a reason to. It was fun, I enjoyed myself for the most part with only trifles to complain about. As far as Bay movies, it was similarly paced, it was going well for awhile until the action became more than the story could keep up with, and some characters were poorly developed. Also Jazz was lame, and Optimus wasn't quite awesome enough. I had reservations certainly, but I was hoping I'd like it and it was pretty much exactly what I expected.
7/10
I wanted more Starscream/Megatron back and forth.
Well I can advice anybody NOT to go to Transformers. I found it pretty lame even when you expect nothing but action. The first part of the movie is loaded with mediocre jokes which only slow down the movie. Later on there are some pretty cool scenes, but they can't hide the fact that's it more the same later. And just when the storyline is picked up again, it gets stalled by really annoying trivial situations.
The most sad thing about the movie was that the whole audience started to applaud afterwards. I had the same experience with LotR 3, which I find excusable, but in this movie....? No way.
I'm not saying this is a very bad movie, but it is waaaaaaaaaaayyyyy overrated. The parts from Spielberg are pretty awesome, but Bay messed up big time. A typical Hollywood blockbuster. I should've gone to Die Hard 4.0 or Zodiac.
quality: 6,5/10
fun: 6,5/10
I thought the Two Towers was much worse than Return of the King, the latter was okay. By that time I'd had enough experience to accept what those films had to offer.
I wanted to leave RotK early, it had a 40 minute ending, I know Fellowship had no ending at all, but this was overkill
No, but my brother has and keeps recommending it. I will have to check it out.
Blame Tolkien for that, they actually cut it down considerably. The whole Scouring of the Shire was gone for one.
Worked fine in a book, I appreciate a thorough resolution, it gives you time to say goodbye properly. It was always going to be a challenge to translate that part to film.
