    The Campaign (2012)
    Rating: 4/10
    Fun: 6/10

Congressman Cam Brady has run for many terms unopposed, until wealthy investors hire an innocent, yet awkward, family man to run for congress.

I was really excited for this movie because the trailers looked awesome. Will Ferrel is always funny, and Zach Galifianakis has been an awesome co-star of several other comedy movies, so I had hopes. Unfortunately, this is not what I was expecting. I wasn't expecting a really clean comedy at all, but at the same time I wasn't expecting this pointlessly crude comedy either. I don't mind crude comedies, but it seriously felt like this movie (and its jokes) were written in 30 minutes. It is difficult to explain, but it just felt so pointless from start to finish. That isn't to say that I didn't laugh, because I had a good few laughs here and there, and one or two really good laughs. Sadly, a lot of the best jokes were in the trailers, and even some of those didn't make the cut for the movie (maybe the uncut DVD will be better). Honestly, Will Ferrel's performance was really bad. I know he almost always plays the same role in his movie, but his character in this movie was basically a sleazy politician, but it felt like his jokes were so poorly written. Sex joke, f-word, sex joke, stupid joke, one honestly funny joke, f-word, sex joke, that is basically how the movie went. Zach Galifianakis did a good job of being weird, but I honestly enjoyed his contribution to the movie more. One thing I was worried with was that it was going to be a comedy about politics, but it would shove their political opinion down your throat throughout the movie. It actually wasn't bad, there were a few political references which weren't a big deal, and you can obviously tell the political orientation based on some of the faces you saw (Bill Maher...really? Why would he be in this...), but luckily they were really good and non-annoying with that. If anything, it felt more like a satire of John Edwards and other corrupt politicians than anything. In the end, if you're really bored, go check it out, you will probably get a handful of laughs out of it. Otherwise, its a huge letdown.

One thing I've noticed about the movie is that it takes place in the Fourteenth Congressional District and in real life North Carolina only has thirteen.

What do you mean by that? Are they worried about getting sued?

It may be doing so simply by existing. People are less trusting of governments than ever before, so the movie is a statement: "hey guys, just laugh off all the corruption, lies and war. Politics is good, everything is normal, carry on." Yeah, I'm a bit tinfoily, but when Top Gun came out, a bunch of people signed up to be fighter pilots.

    The Dictator (2012)
    Rating: 5.5/10
    Fun: 7/10

A dictator of a fictitious middle eastern country comes under fire for his regime's extreme policies. During a trip to New York to help restore relations with the UN, he loses his identity and must save his country from adopting a democracy.

This movie came in phases. It started off hilarious, then got a little dull, then was loaded with jokes that were not funny in any way, and then finished hilarious. Because of that, I had to lower the "fun" score a bit, because a handful of the jokes were disgusting (I am normally not bothered by gross humor at all), and then some out there jokes that I can't imagine anyone laughing at. But the beginning and end of the movie were hilarious; very stupid immature Borat-style humor that just mocked dictatorships. Even the plot of the movie felt a little pointless in the middle, and it just felt like they had to throw that in there so the movie had some sort of concept. Regardless, it wasn't a very well made comedy, but it had me laughing really hard at several of the jokes. I would recommend it to people who just wants a comedy for the weekend, and don't mind Borat-style humor. Its along the same lines as Borat in terms of vulgarity, but (luckily) its nothing like Bruno. Its a movie worth watching once if you were interested in it, but I doubt it will be a movie that you'll want to revisit at any time in the future.

    The Adjustment Bureau (2011)
    Rating: 9/10
    Fun: 7/10

The Adjustment Bureau is a Science Fiction/Thriller that deals with the affair between a politician and a ballerina whom is affected by mysterious forces that's keeping the lovers apart.

This movie is really great cause in the beginning, who you feel like your watching another politic movie but around 15-20 minutes of the movie, you start to see the weirdness and interest of the movie. I don't want to give out that much detail but if your interested in movies that deals with choices you make in life and the effects of free will, you will be interested by Matt Damon's acting.
