    Spaces between letters count.

Happy Gilmore is the epitome of awful Sandler movies. Yuck.

A man has the blessing (or curse) to see demons and angels on Earth. Dying from lung cancer and having a future eternity in hell for attempting suicide as a teenager, he tries to conduct exorcisms and banish demons back to hell in order to win his way back into heaven.

I love this movie, its an awesome action/fantasy movie that uses lots of religious thoughts to get the message across. The special effects are pretty good, the plot is really good, the acting is overall bad though. But its a good movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat, one of my favorites.
IT WAS A 2 HOUR ANTI SMOKING AD! i cant believe you rated it that high.

@donny, i agree with you about the omega man. really wanted to like it, but after the scene where he watched the movie in the theatre, it just spiraled.

Yeah, I wanted to like it too... *sob*

Constantine was utterly abysmal, I'd like to read the original Constantine/Swamp Thing comics though... I can only assume the usual Alan Moore comics/movie disparity holds true. And I've heard his run on Swamp Thing is really good.

Alan Moore's Swamp Thing was amazing. Read it whenever you can.

Constantine (the comic) is also good, although it varies according to the writer. Solid, solid stuff for the most part.

Constantine (the movie) was ok, I guess, if you never read the comic or knew it existed. It could have been MILES better than it was. Kind of like Minority Report.

Maybe thats why i enjoyed it so much every time i saw it. I didnt know there was a comic until like a year after it came out on DVD. And i really liked Minority Report, wasnt the best in the world, but it was really good.

Took a bit of hunting but I found it:

I meant to ask, incidentally, was Hellboy 2 any good? I thought the first one could have been good if it hadn't decided to reek instead.

Man, what a disappointment. I first knew something was wrong with this movie when the end came about 30 minutes in (actually, not really true, I FIRST knew something was wrong when Charlton Heston was watching a movie about Woodstock and reflecting on how great it was).

Just like the Will Smith version, this one takes a hard left into **** city as soon as the girl turns up. Unfortunately, in this case that's about a quarter of the way through.

It's a ****ing crime, this material hands the movie the perfect recipe for suspense, but it's like it has absolutely no concept of what that is. Or what a narrative thrust is, for that matter. It treads on all the tension the source provides, and replaces it (eventually, after a lot of aimless meandering) with some complete twaddle that it doesn't even seem to have the focus or conviction to push. And the final twist makes no sense into the bargain. What a complete and utter write-off. And an obscene waste of Charlton Heston, who was born to play the last man alive.

And unless I'm mistaken, the moral of this story is that black people are idiots who **** everything up.

Oh, and additionally it has dated very badly, in many ways. The jive talk was especially cringe-worthy. Man, the 70s made some awful movies (albeit a few very good ones).

So, it looks like the Vincent Price adaptation remains the best. It's also the closest to the original material (very close, actually). Not a coincidence.

I Am Legend [book] (read it, it's the seminal work of the genre)
The Last Man on Earth (very good, and it has Vincent Price)
    .
    .
    .
I Am Legend [film] (a surprisingly entertaining movie that decided to self-destruct in the third act)
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
The Omega Man (wasted every advantage it had and self-destructed in the first act)
nice try numbnuts you fail at cinema diaf

I guess, it was a lot more lighthearted. Jokes were better, that's for sure.
