Circlet question

I have a nearly cookie-cutter HDin. He's got Enigma, Treks, Spider, Magefist, HOTO, Mara, 1xSoj (other ring TBD), HOZ, CTA/Spirit on switch.

The question is about his helm. I know Shako is the normal choice, but he has a +2Pally, 20% FCR, ~20 Res All (and like 40% Cold) Rare circlet with no sockets.

Question #1 - Is this circlet more useful than a Shako?
Question #2 - If I use a socket quest reward to get 1 socket in the circlet, what rune/jewel should go in there?

PvP or PvM?

FCR = 20 (Arac) + 20 (Mage) + 40 (HoTo) = 80 - dandy

Add 20 to that and you get a good solid nothing.

It's decent. Better than shako? Depends... Use it if you want to change the gear a bit, at least you'll look slightly different than all the other lamerdins. As it stands right now, with your gear set it would waste your helm slot.

For PvP DR is important, keep that in mind...

Ok well i will continue with emar's idea If this is pvm you could use the helm swap out magefist put on chancies and gain some extra mf which is always a good thing

75 is enough unless u plan to hit the 125 fcr bp.

if u plan to socket the circlet though, use a 15/7 jewel.

Sorry, forgot, char is PvM only, want to do Baal and MF runs, but not dying is #1 priority.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Building on what you've suggested, how about this-

Keep the circlet for FCR, and lose the Magefists. Keeps 80 FCR Breakpoint(75).

I have 20 FHR from Treks, put on Bloodfist to get 50 FHR and hit 5 frame breakpoint(48)?

I have an Insight Merc, so not concerned about Mana Regen loss from dropping Magefist.

Which all brings me back to, what do I socket the helm with?

if u plan to go that way, use the jewel i suggested which is a 15/7 jewel.

u can always use a spirit inherited with 55fhr instead of hoz (if it has decent base res instead of hoz), use chancies for extra mf as well as travs for mf

I'm not too sure about switching to Spirit, I don't want to give up the FBR from HOZ, or even the extra +2 Pcomb Skills.

Maybe 2 setups:
Baaling: HOZ, Treks, Bloodfist
Mf'ing: Spirit, Travs, Chancies?

a 15/7 jewel is a 15res 7fhr jewel.

spirit in a ST (highest block %) is pretty nice imo. its all in a matter of taste though as it'll lack that extra block compared to HoZ.
