Okay, so I have this full Natalya's Odium set. The boot suck so I can't be a kicker, and I hate trappers.
So, any advice on which build to go for?
I've tried making a Blades of Ice build / Immobilizer, but I'm not sure if I'm completely satisfied with it.
I like the chargeup moves, but I don't like Phoenix Strike because of the way it works. With fast attack speed I always end up getting the wrong charge.
But, I also want to be able to dish out all three elements at will... Yet it takes 80 Skill points to invest in the elemental chargers and get them fully synergized.
Leaving me a measely 20 to work with for alternate skill point investment.
I would like to have Death Sentry as support, since it's quite useful in certain situations, but the prereqs take more skill points than I'd like to waste.
I would also like to invest in Fade, or Burst of Speed. And especially some Claw Mastery to make sure my chargers hit, I love having tons of attack rating... which leads me to my urge to max out Dragon Claw as well, since it gives like a +500% bonus.
But I don't nearly have enough skill points for all of this. Any advice?
Before you start pumping your AR realize that Nat's claw has ITD.
A basic layout would be:
1 claw mastery
1 weapon block
X shadow master (get it to +17 with skills) +1 prereq
1 CoS (+1 prereq)
2 Mind Blast (your shadow will use it a lot more then)
0-20 Fade (Nat's set + Verdungo's already gives major res all (fire is a bit lacking though) + 40-45% DR)
0-20 Venom (I wouldn't use it for PvM since poison res is quite common, although 1 point and +skillers is not a really bad investment)
1-20 FoF (max this or BoI)
20 Phoenix Stike (for synergy) (+2 prereq)
1 Dragon Claw (optional as finisher, although you could spam it against dual ele immunes)
1-3 Fire Blast (3 for extra DS shot)
X DS (+3 prereq, the more range the better)
My thoughts on BoI:
1. If you want to use death sentry, don't use BoI. (shattered corpses)
2. Damage is not that great.
3. CoS and your Shadow mindblasting should normally be enough crowd control.
Let the shadow tree be handled by +skills, Although try to get 50%+ weapon block (if dual claw). After that investments really become expensive. A torch + Nat's set gives you already + 8 shadow, which is 49%.
Skygoneblue's guide is the best setup I've seen for the set. The build begs to be used with elemental skills. Phoenix Strike is odd to get used to, but it can be very effective. It isn't the only skill to use, though. It also synergizes with Fists of Fire and Claws of Thunder giving two other attacks that don't need so much timing.
To use Phoenix Strike, I keep the charge-up and the finisher on different buttons, and then count the strikes. Since Nat's claw has ITD, the only way to go below 95% chance to hit is fighting monsters above your level. Keeping Nat's claw as primary (glove-side, and equipped first) makes it much easier to keep track of what charge you are on.
The other option is to make a Dragon Claw sin. It won't be nearly as effective (compared to a full kicker build with other equipment), and will be (imho) more boring than an elementalist. The lack of Crushing Blow is what hurts you the most. Nat's set fills up most of the good slots for getting it.
