need help with my bvb/whirler

i recently made this character, and while reading, i hear evryone has around 4-5k life with them! im already using my end game gear, am level 80 and have maxed bo. my life is only 3.3k and my damage stands at around 1.2k. i have trouble killing things in the baalruns im a part of which i never had with my old whirler who had crap skill setout and used botd cb.
here's my gear layout: arreats(nothing in it yet),angelics rings/amu,perfect forti shadow plate, verdungs (33 vita),steelrends,gores,stormshield (pdia in it at mom.),greif zerker (39%ias, 385 dmg), a 17//10 torch, 11//15 anni.
stats: with gear:230 strength, 178 dex, 313 vita, 48 energy (dont worry no points spent here).
i have 1700 life pre-bo and i think it should be more. any suggestions? and could anyone do a damage check on what i really am doing with the grief, cos im seriously considerin buying a ebotdz just for pvming and have the grief for pvp.
i just need help cos i need more life, and need any suggestions over how to improve him...(also what to put in arreats) thx for help in advance :smiley:

IMHO in BvB you need OW. Ditch the rends and get dracs.

You should wear life charms too.

Yeah, sounds like you need some life charms. 37 x 20 = 740 to your base life pre-BO. Level up and pump the vita, you'll be fine.

As far as your damage goes I dunno, sure dracs are good (becoming more effective at lvl90+) but you should still
be doing well as your set-up there with grief/fort is within the highest single-handed damage combo in the game...
Your damage example is PvM for your BvB, if It doesn't suit you, try Highlords with a ravenfrost & a Manald if you want more damage and are tired of potting during those runs. Angelics are more PvP than PvM

Dmg shown on your char screen is incorrect, as it doesn't take Grief's +dmg mod into calculation.

thx uvatha and barloc now to get hold of some life charms...think ill just collect all the self found 18/19 lifers on my various chars for him
@oneblast yeah i know it has +dmg but it seems as though hes a much "slower" killer when playing him.
thx for suggestions, but what should i put in arreats? max dmg jewel? jah rune? pruby ?

Trust me, he kills much faster than eBoTDz. I used to have a Sword Barbarian who used eBoTDcb, and his damaged was about 6-7k (no fort) IIRC. I have since remade one on ladder using Grief Zweihander and he kills at a good speed.

k, ill stick with the grief (even though its driving me mad repairing every 5 minutes-what muppoet at blizzard thought that a beserker axe shoul have 29 durability?) sticll, any1 have an idea on what to socket arerats with?

Jewel with 40% ED/ + dexterity. Same in stormshield. That'll leave you free to pump the Vita as you level, maintain max block and of course add more damage.
