faith with pride/might merc vs windforce with faith merc in pvm

    Hey all,

I was just wondering which has highter damage ? With the right equipement, both build could reach 7 fpa multi arrow and 7,3,3,3 strafe break points. I'm asking those who have the wealth to try both these builds and see which is better.

    Thanks !

If damage is all you're concerned with, rough numbers:

15/2/3/330 'Faith' with 20 Conc Merc and 26 Might (lvl 90 Merc):
    60-309 bow dmg; 75-334 with Travs; 3/4 of that = 56-250
    Strafe: 500(dex) + 125(skill) + 300(fort) + 288(fanat) + 345(conc) + 290(might) = 1090-4870 dmg (2980 avg)
    Multi: 500(dex) + 300(fort) + 288(fanat) + 345(conc) + 290(might) = 1020-4557 dmg (2788.5 avg)
    Guided: 500(dex) + 25(skill) + 300(fort) + 288(fanat) + 345(conc) + 290(might) = 1386-6172 dmg (3779 avg)

40/15 WF with 15 Fanat 'Faith' Merc:
    39-546 bow dmg at lvl 90; 54-571 with Travs; 3/4 of that = 40-428
    Strafe: 500(dex) + 100(skill) + 300(fort) + 144(fanat) = 457-4896 dmg (2676.5 avg)
    Multi: 500(dex) + 300(fort) + 144(fanat) = 417-4468 dmg (2442.5 avg)
    Guided: 500(dex) + 0(skill) + 300(fort) + 144(fanat) = 563-5961 dmg (3262 avg)

    'Faith' wins.

Faith wins, but at a much higher price of cource.
But Wind4c can compete with Faith when dealing with demons, as Faith zons usually need rare/crafted gloves to get knockback, while Wind4c zons use LoH.
Plus, Faith with a Lv12 Fanatism (25% Faith bows) cannot reach 7fpa Multi/GA.

One advantage wf/faith merc has is the merc stays alive alot more. Pride is such a poor weapon on a merc his survivability goes way down. Faith a1 merc is also not worried about IM either.

My wf/faith merc runs chaos -- merc only occasionally dies if she gets caught in diablo's hose o'death.

If the pride/might merc was as relaible to stay alive, then the 1st would be better. But if you take damage over time including all the time spent without pride merc when he dies, going back to town and re-hiring him (never mind cost) --- and compare that to me re-hiring my faith merc maybe once a week or so -- guess which wins

merc doesnt really die that much in cs if you play smart and he is another extra tank you can use in other places such as travincal
and if my merc dies i go on with the cs run as i can still kill fairly well even without

With knockback, Wind4c zons never need an extra tank (besides Valkie & Dummie).
Without merc, 'Faith' zons cannot compete with Wind4c zons.

    You're definitely right.
With wind4c, my act1 rogue NEVER dies even when I solo in 8-player game! She's such a smart little girl!

The damage is commonly quite equal, faith however has higher potential for damage increasses throu charms.

Reason: Faith setup has massive ed and wf setup has massive +max. For best damage you'll want a balance between them and faiths lack of +max can be obtained with charms, wfs ed cannot.

However the charms are normally quite expensive ... wf+faith wins if you look at offensive power in contrast to price.

Another big advantage of wf is that they can use atmas amu while a GMB faith zon wouldn't be able too do that and keep 7 frames. Matri faith could but has lower damage, in return you only need somewhere around 45% ias instead of 95% (letting you use raizortail for 100% pierce for example).

One point for faith is that it has better defensive capabilities, more res, skeles etc, also more +skills. Better ar ofc but even with 1 point penetrate you can easily get 9x% too hit almost anything (enchant from lava goat/obedience works wonders, 1 lvl enchant=1 lvl penetrate, and your weapons turn cool red :laugh.

My vote goes to wf setup because it's cheaper and gives you equal, or atleast close too equal, offensive power.

:flip:Faith setup doesn't use andys* ... so she looks better ... rouge merc looks better then act 2 poleman.

*: Best helm for wf+faith setup if you ask me ...
