I am collecting 3 keysets myself without trading to do my first uber tristram and i managed to get 3 keys from countess and summoner.
Now i have run Nihlathak like 20 times and he didnt drop a single key. Is that just bad luck or are the odds for him dropping a key worse ?
How many keys you avaerage per 10 runs ?
Bad luck. The odds of a key dropping from one of the 3 superuniques are roughly 1/12. Sometimes though, you'll get some dry spots. Note too that only an increased player count will increase the odds of these dropping.
95% of the time I'm right, so why worry about the other 2%?

What are the odds in a full game? ATMA doesn't count keys into the drop calc yet, methinks.
Basically, once the player count has reached 4, the nodrop for the countess's item drop will have reached 0. Remember the rule with partied and non-partied players though, and how they count towards full players with regards to the no-drop value.Originally Posted by helvete
Once the nodrop value has reached 0, the odds of a single key dropping in a single item drop will have changed from 1/68 to 1/49, and the countess has up to 5 item drops.

I wont manage to do him in 5 players game.
Well he finally dropped a key, but before that he dropped an UM.
the odds for key drops in a solo game is 1/14 for countess, 1/11 for summoner, and 1/12 for nihlathak. magic find does not help these rates. More people in a game do increase the chances but by how much im not sure.
Now you can be sure.Originally Posted by lordofericstan
ok so i read the above link..but i dont understand one part..
"If you don’t run in team other players in the game is counted as non-partied."
does this mean they dont count towards the 'total players in game'? or they do?
hmm, time to up my key running group from 2 to 3 I think. Thanks for the link
Players who are not partied and/or not in the area count as 1/2 a player. The player count is then rounded down.Originally Posted by BooTy
Example:
(1)
5 players in the game.
3 of you are partied together.
All 5 of you are in the same area.
If someone in your party spawns a monster, the player count would be [1 + 1 + 1 + .5 + .5] = [4] = 4
If one of the other people spawnes a monster, the player count would be [1 + .5 + .5 + .5 + .5] = [3] = 3
(2)
5 players in the game
3 of you are partied together.
You and one partied player are in the same area. Everyone else is elsewhere.
The player count would be [1 + 1 + .5 + .5 + .5] = [3.5] = 3
