hey i just thought it throw this out there, and ull prolly get mad at me since its somewat off the topic, but when u said *get the best ias* or w/e wouldnt the fastest ias and maybe dmg be:
helm: 120 ed / 45 ias
armor: 160 ed / 60 ias
ammy: cats 20 ias
rings: w/e 0 ias
bow: i guess u could use wf for 40 ias or botd for 60 ias?
gloves: 20 ias
belt: nosferatu 10 ias
boots: w/e 0 ias
+ merc w/ fana
so it be (195 ias w/ wf + fana) or (215 ias w/ botd + fana)
The problem with this is that (whatever +20% IAS on gear may look like) 20% IAS does NOT actually mean you fire arrows 20% faster. IAS works on a series of breakpoints, that is levels at which the amount of IAS you have matters. For example (these are made up) 35IAS could be a 8 frame attack, whereas 60IAS could be a 7 frame attack. Anywhere between 36 and 59% however would still only be 8 frames. Back to your suggested set-up, you would definately be at the fastest breakpoint, you would in fact be well over it, and could easily remove some speed gear for damage.
Now, are my equipment and skill placement alright? What other skills should I start investing into? Wont I have a problem with my merc lagging behind, which means less exposure to fanaticism?
Skill placement look alright, some will debate on the 20GA. But its ok, its the highest damage bowskill and very useful against Diablo/Baal. Skills from now on should go into Critical Strike, lvl 16 after +skills should be your aim.
About Rogue and falling behind: Sometimes she will fall behind, but not very much in my experience. When this happen you can do two things. Either wait for her or run some more. Then she will respawn beside you.
