I'm using a build up sorc with 80 skill points ready to be used and was wondering what would my best build for this sorc be.
tell me you didnt ebay a pre lvled char!?!?!
did you buy gear as well? do you have gear ready to use?
if you are a new player i would suggest building a meteorb. they tend to be the best new player sorc. you can find a good build in the Sorc Library at the top of this subforum.
What's a build up sorc? If it is a purchased one ... oh dear.
meteorb for new players. blizzard for experienced players. lightning for rich and expereinced players!
I don't know if I can agree with the meterob for new and blizzard for expienced part. Both work well for new players or experianced. I prefer meteorb for just about everything. Lightning is only for the wealthy though.
Cold and lightning would work pretty well also, IMO.
lightning is the best IMO if you are rich enough
That really depends on what "best build" means to you. Your title asks what the best overall sorc is. IMO it's a tri-elementalist. This sorceress does not have to worry about immunities at all. Just pick the right spell against monsters and you're all set. The only drawback is that the build won't be as powerful as Meteorb, Blizzard or CL/FO sorcs. The reason is that all your points are spread into all three trees while the others use mainly two. You'll need a lot of +skills and items that give negative enemy resistances to boost damage output. While the others can play up to p8, this sorc can play up to p4. Whatever you choose, take a look at the guides and use a skill calc to find out what damage your build can do. if you are new to d2, then you want a meteor-orb. that way u can retreat and throw meteors with limited wealth. as u aquire more wealth and better skills then go for lit sorc. lit sorc has to be in front of the monsters to do damage(which makes them easier to get killed), and therefore need better armour and tools like infinity to keep'em alive longer:grin:
Orb + CL + HF merc takes care of almost all PvM troubles.
