BINGO - The Tournament!

In honor of my 1,000th post, I hereby pull the trigger on a sweet tourney idea. Originally posted by mwille back in April (linky) this tourney provides a bit of MFO-style action in a BINGO card format! I think you'll like it.

For those of you who might not know how to play BINGO, here's a helpful link. Basically, you need to make a straight line of 5 spaces horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. The "FREE" space is just that: free. Consider it as though you've already found that item.

The current rules are as follows:

1) cards are posted, tourney begins
2) someone posts BINGO, tourney ends
3) mule is verified as a winner, announcement is made
4) everyone posts their "card" i.e. the items that occupied spaces on the card, in list format, along with any mods used
5) winner chooses 5 items, that way he can choose from modded/vanilla users as he/she wishes
6) mules are sent to the winner, along with full ATMA posting for the 5 items, to keep with SPTF rules governing item exchange

Posting your "card" would look like this:

With an appropriate "Mule recieved, thank you!" post by the winner.

This way, if you find a Windforce and a Raven Claw, you can use the Raven Claw for the unique bow space, and keep your Windy. Likewise, you can use the IK maul instead of the armor for the IK set space. Of course, if the only flail you find is a Stormlash...you better win.


This starts Friday at 12:00 Noon CST.


It will go until someone yells BINGO, at which time the winner and ONLY the winner sends his mule to askdrgoober@hotmail.com for verification. Once I verify that there is a winner, then everyone post up their findings in the format listed above. Don't post your findings before I say the game is over. Please list game version and any mods used. The winner then gets to pick 5 items of his choice, which will be emailed directly to the winner. Full ATMA postings are required to be posted in the public forum for the five items transferred. Once those emails have been sent and recieved, BINGO will start again with a fresh set of cards!

Is all this done with one character or can we use a few? Though to be fair there's only really two characters that I could use anyway.

Dang... I've been waiting for this tourney since the first idea was posted those couple months ago. But I'm already spreading myself too thin in D2. Besides, this is also running at the exact same time as the MFO, which makes me think that this tourney might not get the attention it deserves.

Nevertheless... I gotta be in. 1.11 RRM (might as well call me RWM, too, since I'm not vanilla)

Do we need to make new characters, or can we use already made characters? Plus, should there be a couple different divisions between contestants, therefore creating different prize stashes? I doubt that a 1.10 vanilla SPFer would accept any 1.11 RWM items.

Can't wait to start... along with my other FIVE tourney characters.

Looks interesting to me, and as was said, works good in conjuction with the MFO.

But, how'd the bingo cards get determined? Seems some rows would be a lot easier to do than others, on the set card, for sure. I'd have to investigate the uniques more.

Anyhow, I'll give it a go.

To answer a few questions:

• Yes, this goes well with the MFO. Just print out the cards and keep them handy as you run.
• Yes, you can use any character or combination of characters. You don't need to roll a new one just for this, although you can if you like.
• I will be running another one of these at a later date. So don't sweat the card order, timing, etc. This is not the last BINGO.

The idea is, its like the MFO. You start with an empty stash, and go magic finding. Anything you find from that point on is fair game for the BINGO cards.

Edit: It's supposed to be a short game. You guys ever actually played BINGO? It ends in about fifteen minutes, tops. I will publish new cards, there will be several rounds of this. Relax.

GG saucy. I haven't got much for ya, sadly...

I must say, after the Uniques item card is won, I'll have to drop from this tourney idea for a while. As someone had a winning card in less than a day or two, I can't devote that much time to item running since I have 5 tourney characters to work on at once. Great idea, goober (and to whomever came up with the idea in the first place), but I can't focus on this ATM. Maybe I'll join again in the future once my characters die off.

Meanwhile, I'll be working on uniques for a minimal amount of time.

(Oh, goober... although it's not one of the sets mentioned on the card, I found a Hamosu's Adament (sp) set item. If/when someone yells BINGO on sets, should that item be included? Personally, I don't care if it is since I've already got three...)
