    PvM Attack Rating

Im a Zealot / 1pt'er built for Ubers and general PvM play. My build uses no Blessed Aim which I am sarificing for high Defense via Defiance/Holy Shield synergy.

I searched forums to find an appropriate AR goal for PvM play but all I could find was PvP AR goals, which seem ludicrously high.

What should I be aiming for? Please note I am not going to be using Angelics or stuffing my inventory full of charms (this is PvM afterall) so I need a realistic number achievable with high-end PvM gear.

    Thanks guys.

imo around 5k should get the job done(maybe higher for ubers but i've not tried them yet and for ubers you should be using smite which doesn't need ar)

What weapon will you be using for pvm/ubers ?

My PvM zealot has 7.8k AR, and he has a 90% chance to hit most monsters, so that could be a target for you.

What kind of Zealot? For the majority of melee builds, I try to aim for 8,000 AR, which gives me a great chance to hit. If you're an elemental damage Zealot or less reliant on leech, then you can get by with 6,000. If you're a conviction zealot, then you're set with just 640 AR (640 AR + slvl 25 conviction = 8,000 AR + no conviction).

I have a PvP smiter that I put 1 pt into zeal for when I am walking to lilith or whatever. Because he is a pure PvP smiter his ar is low when I am zealing (5k ar) but with the ignore traget def on greif his zeal works fine for PvM.

Using a PB Grief right now (+398 )

As far as build im a pure Fana Zealot with overflow points into Defiance.

Im rocking a lvl 25 Zeal atm and with dual Ravens I can hit 8k AR, but with my normal set up im around 6-7k; so Im wondering if thats too low..

I noticed that sometimes when I hit Pit or am walking Worldstone, Furnace of Pain etc. (basically in really high level areas) I can miss an entire Zeal. At 4 frame Zeal its not a huge deal, I generally take stuff out in *max* 2-3 Zeals.

Is this an AR problem? Could this possibly be caused by PB's short range (2 iirc)? Or maybe im just experiencing some server/client lag. It happens on Act 1 monsters too, but I notice it more in harder areas; maybe thats just me :undecided:

There are two portions to the To-Hit formula. The first compares your AR with enemy DR. The second compares your Clvl to the enemy Mlvl. The reason you're missing so often in the Pits is because monsters are so many levels higher than you. I'm assuming that once you step out of the pits, your chance to hit becomes perfectly acceptable again. Level up some before adventuring in mlvl85 areas (such as the Pit, WSK2, etc), and you should be fine.
