Fire Druid "To Block Or Not to Block"

Wanted a few thoughts on block.

Will block without high PDR even really help a fire druid (I.E. if he is walking like Ink does, etc.) or is going mainly all vita a better choice.

Does anyone know the number difference with bo, etc. going mostly all vita over max block?

Thinking of making another fire druid (no a shaman this time) and just wanted some thoughts. Also is PDR really needed at all. Was thinking of going with a 6 facet sword and 4 facet monarch with ravenlore/shaeled.

Ink, any advice. I have been away for a while and want some good feedback.

I do not suggest the walking approach. Walking will only help against people running in melee. If you use Fissure, running melee character will be no problem. Most barbs will try to Whirlwind you, which you will notice is automatic death. I can't exactly explain why, but the faster you move through Fissure, the more damage you take. I killed a 6k life Barb with one Fissure when he whirled through my 5.7kish Fissure. He had max resists, stacked. He still died before he reached me.

If you are teleing, you can force them into walking if you can use Fissure to your advantage. I "cover" myself in Fissure fields, so that unless they Teleport, they can't desynch run on me without taking a good combination of Fissure+Armageddon damage. There is a huge advantage gained when you teleport and they walk.

If you are not walking, you don't need block. I use a 20/20 Monarch. No PDR, but your worst fears in melee are going to be Zons and Smiters, and you can't block those consistantly enough to warrant a Stormsheild. If you have a 20/20 JMOD, then you're all set...but those can run you roughly 50 SOJs, if you're lucky.

What FCR & FHR breakpoints for a pure fire druid (not shaman)?

You want to hit the 99 fcr bp for a good tele speed, if not at least 68. If any slower, you will be destroyed by any casters. I like keeping my fhr breakpoint high as well with 86 fhr, but with your gear try to hit at least 56.

I'd suggest instead of going with all faceted gear, go a bit more defensive with a nice spirit monarch for 35 fcr and 55 fhr, and a hoto for 40 fcr. They will provide resists too that you will NEED.
