Or you could head to Nevada and open one legally.

If anyone asks Im just making porn for personal use.

Then when they are done I can sell the customer a breath mint for $1000 and the girls get $500 per customers as waitress for said breathmint.
Sell the customer a breath mint? Shouldn't the prostitute get that?

In the interests of employee productivity, I'd give the mint to the customers before service.

More idiocy, always seems to be the case with prostitution legislation. You may as well invent a tide tax and expect it to stop the tide coming in.

The solution to the problem we have here in Australia is to shut the hell up about the whole issue and when no-one's looking quietly make it all legal so we don't have to constantly waste our time and money trying to stop it. Though as I understand it, certain states still have archaic legislation. In Victoria it's still illegal to sell hardcore pornography (not that that stops anything, and why you'd buy it when it's free on the internet I've no idea) and there's only one state in which you can legally make porn, but no-one bothers to enforce those stupid laws.

Here's the thing: prostitution is legal and I can't see any other definition for it than a service. Do prostitutes therefore have to pay GST?
Actually Australian brothels have demanded the right to be taxed. Because they figure that then they'll have to be considered a proper business like any other.

Twenty cents per litre? That's nothing... I think it's about what you get at the supermarket though.

How much do you pay for gas over there? Here, it's expensive when it reaches the 1$/liter mark, so 20 cents per liter is 20-25%. It's not that much, but it's not nothing either.

I wonder though, if prostitution was illegal, would they be able to prosecute you if you pay the pimp tax?

    I'm confused.

If you know they are pimps/prostitutes, why not just arrest them?
If you don't know they are pimps/prostitutes, how are you going to prove tax evasion?

I don't know what it's like in Melbourne, but in Sydney the supermarkets give a 4c per litre discount which might have been vaguely useful a few years ago but is utterly useless now. Currently, in Sydney, where this brothel is located, the petrol price is around $1.35 - $1.45 per litre so 20c is still a hefty discount. Depending on the car you drive, if you fill the tank on the way you could save $50 or more.
