Dear people of the single player isle. We have gathered here today to honour one of our own. One whose deeds have been deemed worthy of an award. Please, welcome with me Nightfish.
*trumpets blaring*
Nightfish, you have done great deeds, which will be remembered. You have given us the Fishymancer; you've shown us that seven different builds of Guardians per class takes time and effort but is doable; and you've contributed quite a bit to this community, which certainly would not be the same without you.
For this, you shall henceforth be known as Sir Nightfish.
*dubs Nightfish knight*
As physical evidence of this honour, you shall receive your very own trophy, as a token of our gratitude for your contribution to this community. I give you, Sir Nightfish, The Guardian from my treasury, accompanied by a knightly fiefdom of 10.000 square pixels of unreal estate. Bear it with pride.
*trumpets blaring*
We will hold the banquet in the EMB. Everyone's invited, the tab is on the house.
After this spring's award fest I proposed to Arreat_Mercenary that we go back some way to the old format of the Single Player Forum Awards. That is, we won't be doing three handfuls of awards somehow loosely connected to the forum.
Instead, a small group of forumites, which currently consists of Ana, Arreat_Mercenary, Rizzo (when he's got time again) and me, will pick one forum member each month (or as close to that as possible) who has done something good for the forum and/or something really special in DII.
This could be organizing tournaments, giving good advice, putting effort into deducting in-game mechanisms, calming people in heated debates, donating items to newcomers, and more. It certainly does exclude flaming, bashing and bullying. When we agree on a member, we'll create an appropriate award (I hope).
As always, Cain will have a list of all awards.
I hope you like it that way.

Congrats to NF!!
As SG posted, appropiate nominees will be selected because of good actions in the SPF (so, bashers, flamers and all the kind is neglected). So by helping the SPF, being nice and gentle and other things can get your "deeds of valor to be remembered" but this time forever in SG's site along with all the forumites whom have done well in the SPF.
Congrats on "The Guardian" to NF!
Drinks on......... Durf in the EMB
HERE HERE! *clap clap! It's a running personal joke I have with this. When fish comes out with a new guardian, I think to myself "ooo! That would be fun to try!"
So I start building a character based off a fish guardian. And not a day later, a "GUARDIAN #__ " post by fish comes out. So I have about 15 lvl 20-30 mini fishy builds stored away
The point is that you keep me motivated to still play this game, fish. Thanks and keep it up!
Award very well deserved!
congrats Fish

Good idea Stargaze. Maybe don't make a new award each month, so they will be valued more...
Congrats Nightfish!
But I think the reward comes too soon. I mean - Stargaze, will NF be rewarded again when he completes his 49 Guardian task?
Nah, he won't. But considering the current SPF-clima we wanted to start this now, and Nightfish seemed a very good choice to start with. So he gets the Award to the 31st Guardian, not the 49th. It's an awful lot of Guardians to me.Originally Posted by Hrus
Congrats Nightfish ! I only hope you won't lose interest in the game after completing your septaple septavirate
Wow, four guardians and an SPF award in the course of a week! NF is making out like a thief (although considering his 'tar, I guess it's only appropriate, eh? Or should I say making out like a 'treasure hunter' instead? :grin!
'Grats, NF! We all love ya man!

Anyway, I'm not good at speeches (only good at longwinded guardian posts...) and I'm a bit at a loss as to what to say to this. It seems like it was just yesterday when I came here. I had owned the game for some time but never played much prior to 1.10. I posted a bunch of noob questions - that all got answered politely and patiently - and posted some more stupid junk as I explored the world of 1.10s with wild eyed wonder. I still remember my first character, a horribly messed up assassin that still somehow got through the game after Ragnarod donated me a Bartuc's claw and a skin of the vipermagi, which seemed like incredible treasures back then. I miss those days, a sentiment fully in keeping with my man serdash's rant of earlier today. Anyway, those first days where when the SPF won my heart and that is why I continue to stay even though there are times when it's not all sunshine and butterflies and I get more than a little pissed off. Overall it's still a good place to be, with a lot of great members, both old and new. *sob* I wubs j00 guys!
Anyway, I'll try to continue to contribute in the way I have, seems like at least a couple people got something out of it. You've been a great audience thus far and your comments - both on the guides and the guardian threads - have surely kept me going much longer than I would have on my own. The time I put into the write ups and guides is well spent when I see that it inspired at least at few people to try something they hadn't thought of before.
