I often run the false tombs when I am leveling up a character for the first run through Hell difficulty. I'll make this a more general practice now that I've read the guide.
Great job, and interesting reading/deciphering, Quickdeath!
I've gotten 3 set items twice, I believe. Can't recall, but I know it was an act 1 cave type area second level. The other time was Sewers level 2, and it was just one of those other chests. Does that make sense? It's been years, but I'm pretty darned sure that it was one of those chests in that area on the right, straight across from the entry. I always open them with anticipation, since. But, alas, nothing.
I also got a nice set item from that random sparkly on sewers level 1, recently.
Never multiple uniques for me.
I will now focus more on these!
Maybe now goltar will complain less when I insite on clearing the false tombs for the SC. I knew I always like those for some reason!
I started dissecting this a bit more, and am confused about something. I thought since 1.10, monster levels and props=area levels. Therefore, in Hell, I thought when you were doing the Pits, Mauseleoum, Ancient Tunnels, etc, all bosses and champions could drop TC 87 items. And, normal monsters and props, such as chests, could drop TC 85. Yet, your tables list the sparklys having much lower TC capabilities.
Was the Little Magic Find guide, that I have printed, and many went by, wrong?
Nice little read. So then, what were my chances when this dropped for me in the pitt? Though, obviously I wasnt running the pitt just for that but I always pop the chest once im done with the clear.
Interesting read, I've always looked for a reason to give Bonesaw a spin.
Something I've been mulling over, and no, it doesn't neccesarily involve Sparkling Chests:
Suppose you have a hard time staying alive while running areas in your MF gear. Would it be feasible to find an area with lots of regular chests (Lower Kurast or Durance, for example), clear the area of monsters using your normal gear; then come back and open all the chests while wearing your MF gear?
Any thoughts?
Yes, my user name says it all.
some us would consider it a bit chessy of course you could also raise the player setting has well when you "pop" the chestsOriginally Posted by noobintraining
