Hi all
I have some troubles with running two copies of diablo ii exp on two computers. My comps are conected with router. I have two legit copies of DII and when one of my chars is playing my other char have much difficulties connecting to Bnet. I am not a computer pro so maybe i cannot explain my problems correctly. If anyone has any suggestions please help me.
Are both characters on the same account?
It sounds like your setup is similar to mine, and it works just fine (for me) with one (known) exception. If you try to log into the same account with two different characters they can't both be in the chat channels at the same time. They can be in a (the same) game at the same time just not the channels. So, just log in one char, enter a game, and then log in on the second... see if that works?
I noticed that chat channel thing but problem is that when one of my chars is in game x the other char will get messages like connecting to fastest server for 2-5 minutes followed by unable to connect to battlenet. It is very annoying. And yes both of them are on the same acc. Btw when i switch acc it is the same :(
I have a similar setup with 2 comps behind a router. Sometimes when both computers are on b-net, it can get a little laggy on one, both, or neither computer. I personally think it's the cheap router provided by my isp. (I would use a better one but the provided one is also the modem. go figure)
Don't know if this is your setup as well. but I hope it may provide a little insight to your problem.
If you are using Windows XP personally I think using 2 seperate computers is a waste of time and space, physical office space that is.
Install one copy under your main user account. Once installed change the folder name to Diabloii2. Switch to an laternate user account, install your second copy with seperate Keys. Whalla! Alt-tabing and user-switching takes about 7 seconds to do if you are slow and saves you setting up 2 machines.
Ofcourse a benefit of having 2 seperate machines would be having a nice warm office all the time![]()
