Gambling- do I have enough?

I have accumulated 30 million in the stash to use for gambling items. Along with my Gheed's, that would amount to about 500 plus ammys or rings.

Is that enough to possibly get a Highlords/Maras/SOJ kind of item? I haven't found any of them yet, and am thinking the gambling route to get one.

I haven't figured out how to use the ATMA drop calculator yet, so if someone knows the probabilities I would appreciate it. And, I do understand that probabilities are just what they say, and not a guarantee.

If 30 million isn't enough, is there a ballpark figure to shoot for?

You have to realize that the chance for uniques is 1:2000 when gambling. If you gamble only 500 items, you will still probably don't get any unique. And if you do - when gambling ring/amulet you have a very high chance that the unique will be not of that type you want.

I would suggest to gamble circlets instead and try for mara's etc at andariel or mephisto. Unless you are also interested in blue / yellow amulets and rings. But I wouldn't try for uniques. As hrus said the odds are 1:2000 for a unique and then it's probably nokozan and nagelring.

Let's say one out of each 15 amulets is what you want (Highlord's, Mara's).
The chance to gamble an unique amulet is 1:2000.
The chance to gamble a good one is 1:(2000*15/2) = 1:15000.
If you want to have 95% probability of getting one, you have to gamble 3*15000 = 45000 times.
Which equals 1.9 billion gold coins (assuming -15% VP Gheed's).

Conclusion: Just gamble for good rares and maybe you'll get lucky. This is the depressing truth.

I cant remember what runes make the Edge runeword... It reduces vendor prices by addititonal 15%. You should equip it while gambling.

I'm not well-versed in the possibilities of RWM, but you're absolutely right there. 30% off in total, nice!
Which leaves only 1.6 billion coins needed :(

Come to think about it 1.600.000.000 is not that much.

The Council on p8 will net you ( along with items to sell ) approximately 200.000 so only 8000 runs should do it. But those runs will probably get you a Mara anyway...

I heard someone mentioning about levelling to 95 so that rare gambled ammies will always spawn a +2 skill? Is there such a thing?
Ipsblasch, I was just about to create a thread bout this thing, have round 22 mil in ATMA banko and was planning to gamble on some rings/ammies. Circlets are kinda pricey tho...
