[us east L] Help with poison necro

Well i got bored playing with my windy druid and now have decided on making a poison nova necro for dueling. I have never made one before so what i'm asking is what type of items do i use and where to put my skill/stat pts? Thanks for any advice!

Go for poison/summon hybrid (look in the stickies)
    Skills in short

    20 Poison Nova
    20 Poison Dagger
    20 Poison Explosion
1 in lower resist (and all preqs)
1 in skeleton mastery (and all remaining skills go there)
    20 in skeleton warrior
    1 in clay/golem mastery/summon resist

For gear trang set is a good start, add deathweb, marrows, torch some skillers and you are set.

    Stats which worked for me
    Str enough for gear
    Vitality all rest

perhaps a point intoe Corpse explode and/or Revives would be useful too....would enhance the psn/summonr build...both offensively (CE, if you're soloing it can easily take down the rest of a monster pack) and defensively (Revs as additional meat shields 1 pt can get you 10-20 revives - depending on your + skill gear)

I read all the other stickies. I just wanted to hear from other poison necros to see which which build was better. here's what i plan on using:

    Trangs Gloves, Shield , Belt
Shako (until i can get on of them tiaras)
    Enigma
    Fcr rings
    Marrow walks
    Deaths Web
    +3 10fcr PnB ammy

Just wondering does the marrrow walk bug still work? Also is it better to have the 3 trang parts and have the -25 psn resist and lvl 18 fire ball set bonus as a finishing move, or have arachs and humo/boneflame?

    thanks for the help

Since you wanna use fireball for a finishing move I am assuming you are pvp since monsters will die from poison. If you want a finishing move you can just use teeth, dream merc, or fire golem. I had a poison necro using the three trang pieces and I think I would prefer humonc and arachnid for more fcr and resist, block.

the thing is with yur dream or fire goelm merc is that they die sooooo fast to anything. Thats my problem i cant take off that last hp cuz my golem always dies with 1 orb, or preety mcuh one of anything. also how much does dweb usually go for on non ladder do you know? thats teh one item i cant seem to get if my life depended on it.

Arrow Poisonmancer gear and damage output

I'd go with the pvp Poison build HoS linked to.
I'm currently leveling one of those (now lvl 73 Hell act I), and I find him to be fun to play and decent at handling monsters as well.

I'm not going to discuss skillpoints or stats allocation, as the other guys have that covered pretty well, but instead I'm taking a look at some items and the damage you'll deal with this deadly combination.

If you can't afford to get Harlequin's Crest, try to get a decent rare Tiara with +2 Necromancer skill levels and some other nice modifiers like faster cast rate, resist all, damage reduced and +life.
If you can get an Enigma armour you'll be manouvrable and get some good bonuses on top of it. Teleport hit-and-run style and you should be in control.
With Trang Oul's Wing (can be socketed with Shael for faster block), Claws and Girth you'll get a sweet increase to your poison damage, both from the +25% pdamage from Claws and -25% enemy poison resistance from Wing. Add a decent Death's Web wand and we're talking some serious poison damage when combined with maxed synergies and the Lower Resist curse.

With the 3 Trang pieces, a decent Death's Web, +6 skills (Enigma, DWeb and +2 skills headgear or amulet/rings) +4 PnB (DWeb and Wing) this is what we're talking:

    -------------------------------------
    Lvl 30 Poison Nova
4491-4706 poison damage over 2 seconds (including the +25% from T's Claws)

Lvl 9 Lower Resist (+6 skills, +2 curses from T's Claws) gives -54% enemy poison resist. Combine with between -65% and -75% to enemy poison resistance from Wing and DWeb for a total of
-119% to -129% enemy poison resist.
    -------------------------------------

Now hold that thought. Let's say your enemy has as high as 75% poison resist and your Death's Web is slightly above average (-46%), giving you a total of -125% to enemy poison resist when you've cursed your enemy with LR.

    -------------------------------------
    75% - 125% = -50% enemy poison resist.
Which means, your Lvl 30 Poison Nova will be dealing an effective average of
6898 Poison damage over 2 seconds.

With +8 skills and +7 PnB skills (added rings and amulet) this gives us Lvl 35 PN with a whooping
9069 Poison damage over 2 seconds.
    -------------------------------------

Which means, you'll reduce an enemy to 1 HP in a splitsecond. Since you'll probably be duelling in Hell difficulty, an enemy's "poison length reduced by x%" will most likely be nullified by the massive negative modifier you recieve in Hell.

The probably easiest way to kill that last hitpoint is to have Teeth or (if you prefer) Bone Spear on your left button and PNova on your right, and right after you've hit your enemy with the PNova, just spam some Teeth/BSpear and you'll be all set.
For style points you could also try having a dagger with Ignore Target Defense on switch, and Poison Dagger stab him/her to death, but this is rather risky and should only be attempted by stupids and professionals as it requires great skill and timing, not to mention being in close range of your enemy.

Now, what are you waiting for? Go out there and Poison 'em all!
